My interior fans took a dump on me, the heater still has heat coming through and same with the a/c theres just no fans to blow it in to the cabin. Oddly though I was driving last night with the fan knob on max just to see if they'd work and they did! Then about 5 seconds later they turned off, any ideas? I checked the fuses under the hood, but I'm not quite sure where the blower transistor is to check that out, anyone know what the voltage for that needs to be?

You're going to have to pull the blower motor and test it. Pull the glovebox, cross bracket, cabin filters, and blower motor. Then hook it up to a battery and see if it works. Could be a pinched wire or the motor going bad.

Blower motor resistor. If it doesn't work on any other speed other than the max speed then the resistor is fried. If it works periodically on Max and nothing on anything else then it's fried and it probably has a loose connection in it. It should be letter B. It says that you do not need to drop the blower motor. You more than likely just have to drop your glove box.

Try the resistor first and then you can try dropping the blower motor. Resistor is easy and cheap, no reason to drop the whole motor.

I had the same problem... the blower motor brushes went bad. The blower motor replacement for the 2002 honda civic si from kragen DOES NOT FIT!!! Had to get it from the dealer (250$). So I installed it and it worked for about 10 minutes until a fuse broke. Replaced that....it worked for about 3 more minutes...now I'm waiting for the blower motor resistor to get here. Hopefully thats fixes it. BTW the blower motor is easy to replace... I think the resistor is a pain since its wayyy back by the firewall. Good luck

knew that s2000 comment would get some tempers going and some responses on here, thanks for the tips. i pulled the glove box and pushed some stuff around and now its been working 3 days in a row at all speeds with no issues whatsoever. i recently took it to vavoline to get my oil changed cause my filter was siezed on:mtongue: and they replaced my cabin air filters with out telling me then tried to fit me with the bill. i didnt end up paying for them but i think they pushed them in too hard and pinched a wire or connection. so far no problems since i messed around with that stuff under there. i spent a good 2 hours checking all my grounds and re checking them and they were all solid.

Finally fixed this today after about of year of being broken. It was the blower motor resistor like you guys suspected. I tried ordering the replacement from autozone, it plugged in but would not fit in to the hole where the old one was. It also didnt work! I replaced it with an oem one from a wrecked ep3 and the fans fired right up. I got my resistor for 10$ so if you need a cheap alternative start calling the junk yards. The ones from an rsx work also!

I sorta had the same problem but mine is stuck on full blast. Where's the blower motor resistor located behind the glove box?
