Installing type-r sides on an 02, do i need the "stays"??

My car is going to the body shop in 2 or 3 weeks and im getting my type-r bumpers installed. And I was looking at the blow up picture of how they attach from that "JDM parts lookup" and also found this picture form a local used JDM shop. I saw that the Type-r's use these things called "stays" according to the look up. Heres a pic of what im talking about.

I already have the stickey clips and new screws to hold the skirts at the front of fender. Im curious about if any one has used/would suggest using the "stays". They look like they just attach/stradel the pinch weld on the under side of the car.

i know the usdm 04/05 use similar brackets. i was lucky enough to get these brackets with my sides. i think most usdm ephatches run their jdm sides with push/sticky clips only.

^^ do they just sit on the pinch welds? or do they use a screw to pinch them selves to the welds?? or do they just sit there??
