okay, a while ago i posted that i had an accident where some dumbass kid was backing out and his front end scraped the side of my car. Well, i am suppost to have to fixed on the 16th of Dec. Well, its suppost to cost between 1800-2000. My door has about 2 inches scraped, the rear fender has a scraped going all across it about as high as the I-Vtec Sticker. then the bumpers edge is craped to the primer. Should i get a check and get it done by someone else and save some money? The only problem with that is that i need a rental car. Then insurance will give me one if i go the the same place they want me to. Help me out! thanx!

yea, its his insurance. The only problem is that i am only 19. In illinois u have to be 21 to get a rentacar normally. I dont know if it changes because i need a car for work and school.

i'm sure the insurance has a way of handling that...worst comes to worst u could always get a parent or relative thats over 21 to get the car out right?

no, because the accident was in my name and i am the one who needs the car. The insurance will think they are paying for my parents and not me.

tough situation, guess you'll jus have to get someone over 21 to rent a car out for u and have the kid pay the bill

The insurance company will give you some options. They won't leave you high and dry.

Depending on the agency you get your rental from, you may have to be over 25 yrs old to rent a car without paying a fee. But if you can get a car without paying it, I say go for that rental. However, if you do end up having to pay a fee(around $15 a day) then, make the kid who hit you pay for it.

Tough situation your are in. Speak to the ins company and see if they can make some sort of arrangement with the rental company.
If you would have been in NY, You needed to be 25 to rent a car, no exceptions.
