Hello,

I just got my 2002 Silver Civic Si a couple of weeks ago...I think I have 600 miles on it so far. Anyway, are dealerships having trouble selling the Si in your region? Here in Arizona, there are around 20 2002 Civic Si's sitting in all of the Honda dealerships. I don't even know if they have ordered 2003's yet. Is it the same where you live?

I got the car well under invoice, but I'm wondering if I should have waited longer. I see the price on these cars drop like every week. I was just curious if it's like this everywhere or just the fact that Arizonan's mostly buy pickups and SUVs.

They're selling quite well in the San Francisco Bay ARea. I see quite a few EP's rolling around. As far as the Tokyo/Yokohama area, I have yet to see an EP Type R. The only ones I've seen were at Honda headquarters. In fact, in 6 months, I only saw TWO EK Type-R's on the street, but I've seen quite a few Integra TYpe-R's...unless it was the same guy everytime!

Hey tragedy,

have you seen the new subaru wrx?? i'm kinda interested in the new design, do you know whats the difference between yours and the new ones? I personally like the new look better, also heard that it has more horsepower, that true too?

I run by the same Honda dealership in the Arlington, VA, area every day. They've sold several (three, perhaps four) Si's from their lot in the past two months. They may have sold others directly from a regional storage area (located on I-95 near near Clarendon, VA), but I don't know that for sure. One forelorn black Si has been sitting at Brown's Honda for several months. Finally, because I'm running past the store at 5:30-ish in the a.m., I can't get into the fenced in area to know whether any of the cars sold are 2002s or 2003s.

Anyone bought a 2003?

How well are they selling? Poorly.

Prices are $14,495 and $14.995 in my area.

Last month when I bought mine I paid $15,995 and thought I got a great deal.

The dealership must have Jedi mind tricked me!

In my area they are just sitting around. I bought my 03 vivid blue
for $18200 out the door. I thought that was a good deal on a 03

They can't hardly sell one where I live. The dealership still has the same 4 they started with. I talked to a sales manager the other day where I got mine and they have sold only 3 since they first came out. My car is a rarity around here. I get alot of stares and ricers trying to show off when they see me though. Right now they have CLEARANCE marked on all 4 of those EP's and still can't sell them. May not be good for me though if I chose to resell it or trade it in.

i think resale is gonna be a concern for si owners that paid full sticker. not as an exuse but i'm sure the economy doesnt help the sales of this type of car either

The new design is due out by the end of 2003. That design might not make it to the states and only be in Japan and Europe. The reason being is that the Japanese and European buyers didn't like the current design but American buyers loved it.

The suspension is a bit different, but the horsepower will remain the same. Since the legal limit in Japan as far as horsepower is 280, the current STi (actually, the STi is at 276HP) must stay where it is.

Well in STP florida...i drive by 2 honda dealerships, Crown and Autoway. Crown has the same 4 and autoway has traded theirs......yea and crown has to sell 2 or 3 of them to order any of the 03...but i was there today and asked the guy any 03's on the lot and he said no. Well i start to look and there is a white one off in the back, so i ask is that a 03? he promply replies no that is not. so i say can i go look at it???
We walk over there, probably the dirtiest car on the lot and to my eyes! 03 on the sticker......the salesman goes and walks away.

now crown told me that the first 03 on the lot would be my blue one...BASTARDS!!!!! and it still hasnt come in:'(

The EP3 '02 models sold very badly in my part of the world (NoVA). There are still '02 models available, but the '03 are coming in on top of them. I think that there are some different colours for the '03. Maybe that'll help.

I did see one bright blue '03 EP on an elevated outdoors display in Manassas. Looked pretty good.

I paid $16,000 for my '02. 600 miles on it now, and I'm about to cut loose. LOL...

I think this model will catch on...but the first year of any radical model change is always a problem for Honda.

Got mine last month, paid $15,200 silver, side airbags, floormats, mudguards. I think the delear had 15 or so. mine was 1 of 2 '02 model Si's left, the other had a lowering kit (Eibach) 1.5" kit and mud-guards and Tenzo shu 17" wheels also it was white, they wanted like $19200 for that one with everything on it. I passed because it had 60 miles on it, very dirty interior and a huge dent underneth at the rocker panel. I think here in the central valley of California, they are having great trouble selling them. however I noticed another new one showed up this week in my apartent complex, (Black)

Damn, I knew I should have tried to haggle more. I went through the internet/fleet department, so I felt like I couldn't really haggle on price and equipment. My car didn't have anything on it. I should have posted to this site and waited to buy my car. Live and learn, I guess.

I bought mine in June and paid $17995 (sticker was $19460.)

This month I am seeing them advertised ('02 models) for $15K and change.

I live in a town of 40,000 people and there are 4 EPs that I know of.

I guess if I had waited to buy my car for the cheaper price it would have offset the cost of doing the engine swap a little! ;)
