bought it off a guy name jo6wo on honda-tech came with no headlights, seats, shifter, n ect it was basically a wreck shell. he also lied said it camed with blueprint stage 2 cams wen it was rbc cams. the motor blown due leaking oil from crack sleeves or timing chain cover. the used to belong to shadowmd i found him on here.after the motor went bye bye my bro bought a daily 94 ls teggy n had an accident with it him n his boy died n left me his ep3 so im goin to finish his dream k20/k24 turbo...
but it goin to take time i just graduate high school money is tight....

oooo lol and that suspension (well d-spec struts) were on the car for only a few thousand miles before the accident happen so they should be pretty fresh :mbiggrin:

lol if u miss it so much i trade it for ur sti j/k i wouldn't trade or sell it for anything ..camden/pennsauken nj im having the same problem with it vtc phase gap like u did before i check timing it good... guess censors are mess up n it idle 1500 up n down to 2500 rmp. i was goin to sell it but couldnt cuz it was my bro car..... i could have spent way less gettin a shell...
parts still need grills, bumper markers, seat belts n emblems. still waiting for oem headlights
plans for later pistons, rods, turbo n a tune. the ep3 is my daily for school rite now.

check the pulse plates....the other side of the cams. (trans side) the pulse plates were not lined up before...well just one of them wasn't. that's what was causing my cel. once i fixed that, it ran great.

ooo and also, check the idle air control valve. its under the throttle body. i had it hard wired right to the sensor. had an issue with the rbc after install so i had to do it. that would also cause the erratic idle

how do i fix it? it was like before too with ur old swap n same cel vtc cam phase gap. do i have to take out cam to line up pulse plate?

yea i am pretty sure you have to take out the cams to align the pulse plates. it's pretty easy to do. there are keyways on the end of the cams where the pulse plates line up.

i check it wen the car get out the body shop. so u never fix the idle problem ?

i did. the idle problem was fixed as soon as it occured lol. it was the idle air control valve. the phase gap cel had nothing to do with the idle. it pretty much put the car in limp mode and prevented it from going into vtec. the idle air control valve (bottom of throttle body) used to have a plug where it plugged into the wiring harness. the wires got pulled out of the plug so i ditched the plug and hard wired the harness directly to the idle air control valve itself.

i dont think it in limp because i can still high rev..
