View Full Version : tranny wont shift or clutch not engaging.....a little help please

so just finished my k24 swap fired it up sounded good.......

the problem

My stock tranny......when i drove it went in reverse, drove about a 100 feet and then suddenly was not engaging gears.....I can change gears without pressing the clutch while the car is running but the car dont go

has a new exedy clutch and tranny fluid honda oem 1.8 qts

any insight would be great.........I will be pulling the tranny back out tomorrow I guess.......sucks

Yeah twicw to make sure looks like the slave cylinder is fully engaging.........but the weird thing is i can shift gears even when the car is running without the clutch

but the car isnt moving? sounds like your clutch is stuck in the not engaged position either way id pull the trans and check it out

Sounds like the clutch isn't engaging. Either you still have air in the system or maybe your pressure plate isn't lined up and is binding.

Just a thought....check that your axels are seated properly.

Went to replace the driver axel recently and the spline was about a 1/8"-1/4" too short and the clip ring would not seat, popped out just enough to lose any engagement.

Check to make sure the shifter forks arnt bent. My friends ep had bent shifter forks and wasnt allowing the clutch to fully disengage and caused his bran new clutch to burn out.

well in case this happens to you..........yeah one of you guessed it..........

I got to thinking and went and looked at my axles

drivers side had popped out about an inch or so

problem solved
