CEL P1298 ELD Circuit High Voltage

I had the check engine light come on recently got it scanned at Autozone and this DTC code came up. In the service manual it talks about checking connections to make sure there are no open wires. I searched and found a thread showing how to replace the eld. This is the only code that came up. Should I go ahead and order a new one since they are not that expensive? In the past this seemed to be a somewhat common thing to go wrong with our cars. Is it bad to drive the car with this problem until able to fix it?

Yeah replace the ELD. If you take it to a mechanic, do NOT let him convince you that he must replace the entire fuse box. I made that mistake out of ignorance and got ripped off
