Anyone else noticed the material on the driver side seat, near the left shoulder bolster is wearing? mine is from my seat-belt. I have about 1600 miles now, dont drive my car much, but am 5'6'' and ride with my seat almost straight up and the anchor points on the highest notch. I have found it rubs the seat exactly where the seat belt rests when you drive. anyone think Honda will cover this under the 12 mo. 12k mile B2B warranty? I hope so those seats look scarcely expensive.:o

Yeah, I've got the same problem. I'm 5'9. I first noticed it after having the car for two weeks. Six months later, and it hasn't gotten worse. I'm still going to wait and see.

if your seats are prematurly wearing out like that then i'm sure honda will cover it inside the 3yr 36k bumper to bumper warranty

Yeah I've got duck tape Ghetto-Rigged on the seat now to keep it from getting worse.

Mine is faded from dog drool as a result of someone constantly hanging his head out the window.

I get so frustrated when people post about this..."my car's suede is wearing, right where it should wear, because it gets rubbed every single time I get in the car. Its honda's fault! Fix it, honda!"

Seriously, what can they do? replace the suede? then at 3200 miles, you'll have the same fu**king problem!

Suede wears. Deal with it.

Wear and tear items are not covered by any b2b warranty. Those are things that are bound to happen. It's wearing on my seat too, but I don't believe I'll sacrifice my comfort while driving to save a little 2" area on my seat.

Next thing you know people will blame Michelin for the tires wearing out.

my seats are pretty straight up, but it doesnt rub. i thinki its because im 6ft, and im extremely overweight, so the belt doesnt have a chance to come in contact with the seat. I'll be buying some black and yellow seat covers from Autozone soon, just so I dont have to worry about it rubbing (and because i like yellow and black ;p)

I don't think you understand. This looks like total shit. Mine was doing it at like 1000 miles or something rediculously INSANE.

This is PREMATURE WARE due to a DESIGN flaw. That's a lot diffrent from "normal wear and tear". I mean, we shouldn't be seeing shit like this at 1000 miles! At a 1000 miles the car should still be like new. Mine's getting pretty bad, but I"ve kind of had a "fuck it" attitude lately. I'm waiting for it to wear completely through so they can either replace it for not making it right in the first place or give me something to fix it. I'm kinda pissed off about this; they obviously didn't do their homework. It needs a seat belt guide like the other 2-door Civics I've seen.

I feel like this got mentioned before.

My seatbelt doesn't come anywhere close to the seat. How does yours fit you? Have you tried adjusting the anchor point for the shoulder strap?

Take a picture or three of where it sits while you're wearing it.

Sorry to get a few of you un-settled on this thread, but I am really meticulous about my car and it's condition. I think that the (seat-belt) design is un-acceptable per Honda standards. This represents the point when a car is no longer just a car. If it were for that I would have purchased a Sentra Spec-V as planned, but found the car lacking in fit and finish; most parts looked as if they would wear prematurely. I felt competent in Hondas ability to build an automobile to the highest caliber, my '91 Integra looked showroom pristine, inside and out 11 years later in it's lifeline, the seats looked damn-near perfect. The driver seat in on my 1-month old Si looks atrotious being the least offensive in description. I got an incredible deal on my car $15200, I feel for some of you whom may have paid $19+ to have the sued-esq material on the seat disintegrate in 1000 miles of driving. I bet the engineers who designed the (b) pillar drove the car around for 6-10 months in the prototype stage, with the seat arched back Joey-Ricer style. What gets me pissed off the most is the seats amid other features was the selling point of the car. Happy Motoring, I'm out.

I know I wasn't the only one to ask, and I know you can answer: Have you tried adjusting the shoulder strap anchor point?

Yes or No?
