All right, I picked up my EP3 a few months ago, but haven't had a chance to work on it. It was in pretty sad shape, but I got a good deal on it. Finally, though, I was able to get started on it this past weekend. For a little background, I bought this car from a towing company who picked it up as abandoned. The previous owner decided to leave the windows and sunroof open to the elements, and needless to say, the interior was trashed (except for the seats). So basically I have to replace all the interior, including the dash, front bumper and hood. It also didn't have an intake or battery on it. Fortunately I found a donor car recently and I'm going to get all the interior parts this Tuesday (fingers crossed). For now, I've stripped the interior and cleaned it. So please go here to see the pictures:

Nice! Bring her back strong!
LOL, already off to a good start stripping that white dash out...now just get rid of that ghey-ass Streetglow sticker, and the car will look about a thousand times nicer! :tehe:

Well, I spent all day yesterday driving to/from Atlanta (10 hours round trip) and stripped the interior out of a wrecked EP3. It only took 1.5 hours to do that (seats were already out of it). So, today I'll start putting it in mine. I'll take pictures as I go along to keep you guys updted. To answer your questions: What, you don't like the sticker (j/k); I'm guessing the car weighs about 300 pounds lighter right now; I paid $2K for the car (58K on the odometer) and $260 for the interior pieces, including the entire dash and a hood.

Well, I pretty much got the interior installed. I just need to get the bottom cover for the steering column and the dash panel that covers the passenger airbag and I'll have all the interior pieces I need. Next up is getting the mechanical problems solved (idle surging). Here are some updated pics:

Well, I fixed the idle surge. The IAC valve was stuck open, so I took it apart and cleaned it. It doesn't surge anymore, but won't go over 3K rpms. It also has multiple fault codes (P0141, P0335, P0505, P1166, P1167, & P1298) with a CEL.

It's running in limp mode to protect itself until those codes get worked out. Keep up the good work!

Yeah that's what I figured its doing. I guess my next step is to check all the connections & fuses, unless someone else has another idea.

Thanks! Also, would someone please take a pic of the interior fuse box, specifically the connectors on the rear side. I'm 99% sure I have it all hooked up correctly, but would like to make sure. For some reason the speedometer isn't working. Everything else in the cluster is working (except the odometer-it has mileage, but doesn't count up) so I'm thinking it could be a connection at the tranny.

Well the hits just keep on coming! It looks like the alternator has gone out. The car will run for 15 minutes then die and need to be jumped to start again. So add another problem to the list.

Keep up posted on this! Sure you got alot of work to do but sure it will worth it :D

Also for the P1298 look at my How To to how to repair this, it has something to do with the ELD.

Well I dropped the car off with a mechanic to run diagnostics on it. I just don't have the free time to trouble shoot it right now. However I will be doing all the actual repairs. If the ELD does need replacing I'll definitely use your tutorial!
