I also did a Type-S 5-lug conversion on my 2002 EP3. From what I can tell, the hub position did not change when I went from the stock hubs to the new Type-S hubs. So I'd say that spacers are not required if Andrew didn't use them. The spacing should be the same for the 02-03 EP3, 04-05 EP3, RSX base and the RSX Type-S.

You'd only need spacers if you bought rims off something like the DC5 (RSX) Type-R -- I bought a set of those recently and the rim offset is +60 (vs EP3/RSXbase/RSXtypes rim offset of +45). When I put the DC5 Type-R rims on my EP3 they sat too deep within the wheel well. I bought 15mm spacers to make up the difference.

Hope that helps!

youre reasoing sounds full proof, but i read somewhere in a thread that someone with an 04-05 ep3 5lug set up needed spacers or just shaved their brake caliper?

Wow I don't know if shaving the brake caliper would provide the clearance or not. Sounds like a lot of effort. I can tell you that when I bought my ITR rims, the seller included a set of 5mm spacers. With just the 5mm spacer, I was able to clear the front caliper. I didn't try the back though.

I finished the install this weekend, here are the DC5 ITR rims on my 02 ep3:
http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/ii455/ragebomb99/ep3/th_86cf9c49.jpg (http://s551.photobucket.com/albums/ii455/ragebomb99/ep3/?action=view&current=86cf9c49.jpg)

I used the Ichiba version 2 spacers, 15mm:
http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/ii455/ragebomb99/ep3/th_4430c35b.jpg (http://s551.photobucket.com/albums/ii455/ragebomb99/ep3/?action=view&current=4430c35b.jpg)

A note about those spacers. They are really well made. They look and feel solid and lightweight. The only problem I have with them are the little nuts they come with (to bolt on the spacer to your oem bolts). Those nuts are so soft, it's like they are made of plastic. I stripped one of them, even after being very very careful to have the socket seated on it properly. I'm going to replace all of those Ichiba nuts asap.

i don't think i'll ever paint it; it would ruin it's character most i would do is vinyl wrap it black. i don't have any shots with the 04-05 sides yet. i'm trying to get my whole suspension set up correct and you'll see me at the dublin meet if you're out there

A legit deal? It's how much these motors go for. If you pay more than 1500 for a k24a2 with 60,000 or higher your getting ripped off
