So... AFTER ALL THE BS I'VE BEEN HAVING WITH MY ENGINE(throttle body issues, and slipping clutch)... NOW THIS! LOL

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVeajSr2c_A

So I've decided to do my EP right and make her go FAST :mwink:

Here are my ideas:

1. K24A2 with K-Pro
2. Keep the A3 Bottom and just get a new set of A3 Cams(Brian Crower) and Valvetrain with K-Pro.
3. Same as ^ #2 with street JRSC.
This will be over a period of 6 months... GOT TO SAVE $$$ Im a save about $600 Per month to make this possible. I WOULD PREFER THE CHEAPEST ROAD POSSIBLE, BUT... I know that this wont be cheap. Trying to keep in less than $5,000 though... :mconfused:

IDEAS????

Damn Brad. Motor swap would be the best route for you since your always having some kind of engine problem.

Still going to have those little rod journals unless he goes with a k20a2 crank. To build it right it's going to cost a lot in machine shop costs. More then likely will cost more then a k24, make about the same power, and not last nearly as long as factory sealed honda motor.

My 2 cents

k20a2 head $700.00
Rods and pistons $800.00
head gasket and sealants and such $120
Balance Rot Assem. $250
Bearings $100.
Bore/hone/deck block $150
Blue print and order all correct bearings $200
Assemble shortblock $150
Inspect/ Mill head $100-200
........$$$$

TELL ME ABOUT IT!... LOL
The only thing killing it, is that I got to keep using the stock TB on the K24... AND THE PROBLEM IS THE THROTTLE BODY! FML!
Oh Well... I will have the biggest smile on my face when it's all set and done. Six months of taking the bus is SO worth it to me. Im a probably not drive the car even when it's done till I get new wheels for it. as well as maybe a big brake kit for the front.
So.... Probably gonna be the K24A2 with K-Pro. TIME FOR SOME READING!

Thanks for the info everyone... keep them coming... I have ntohing set in stone yet :mwink::mconfused:

Anther thing that worries me is if I become one of those horror stories on the forum... Bought my engine and it has a bad head, block, or worse. THAT WOULD SUCK!

most junkyards sell there engines with warranties, the junkyard that i bought mine from had a 30 day warranty on it. You should start calling around now because more than half of the ones i called didnt have the engine

Good idea... I'm at the begining of saving money, so I'm not gonna buy now. But I will start calling around. Good to know that they have warranties on them.

my k24a1 has a 6 month warranty on knocks, ticking, and leaks. I could have paid more for an extended warranty but I figured after a breakin period and some WOT tuning past the 6.8k rev limit that I will test it out pretty well. Motor was 750 before the core charge and taxes, 850 all said and done. I am yet to turn in my old motor for the core charge.

YEAH!... THEY DO! And they're in the 818 so shipping and handling shouldn't be that expensive.
