yeah, it;s a clean setup. If we could only get the I-Vtec cover to work woth that, we could hid the s/c and be all stealth-like. The Focus s/c is kinda cheesy; it sits about 2-3inches about the valve cover as opposed to below it like our setup.

I don't have the picture with me, but there's a link somewhere else on the forum with a link to a picture of the EP with a JR supercharger. There is also anthoer thread somewhere with this same subject... if you're interested, search for it.

On another note... I can't wait!! Maybe by that time I'll have my suspension done and enough left-over $$. Probably not though, it's gonna be expensive

JR Superchargers are notorious for their low outputs. And their FMU often is the reason for engine failure. I once raced a EK Civic EX with a JR supercharger and bolt ons when I didn't have a turbo. I wasn't told it had a SC so I lined up with it and my wife was in the car and so I wasn't going to launch hard or run my car hard since I thought it was a regular EX w/ bolt ons. I drove off the line and ran next to him the whole way. He beat me by an inch. I was confused till I found out what he had then I laughed in his face and said wait till I get some FI. Hence my turbo now let me see that slow piece of shit I devestate it. Another quick story my friend has a Greddy turbo kit on his 96 EX coupe a car the same as the above mentioned. It's running 5.5 psi and is much faster than the one with the supercharger which I believe runs 6psi or some where around that. My frined sucks at driving and still beat him pretty bad. So that's why I say they suck. Not to mention another friends car a 99Si with the JRSC and it was slow as fuck till the day he broke up with his girlfriend and it's her car now and guess what it's still slow as fuck.

BTW My car was only able to muster about 15.5 at the time of the race against the JRSC guy's car so he's hitting about 15.6+ since I didn't even try till I realized it wasn't even a regular EX.

that seems to be the story of the JRSC in older civics. its a mixed bag of good and bad reviews, maybe more bad than good:confused:

I've just seen too many bad things happen with those SC to peolpe that I know that definetely know what they are doing. Also there is a problem with tip in throttle it tends to run lean at the first second or so of tip in till the FMU figures out what the hells going on. This has caused a lot of problems also for a lot of people.

Do any of these turbochargers come as a CARB legal package?Would the car pass the visual inspection comes smog & registration time?

The Jackson Racing kit is designed to keep the car under warrenty and legally smog-able. Sure it costs a bit more than the turbo, lowers fuel efficiency and doesn't produce as much net HP as the turbo, but it does have it's benefits.

I'd highly consider all the facts & figures before deciding on a forced induction means of soupin' up my EP.

Ther'es my $0.02.

There is none for EPs yet but GReddy is supposed to come out with one I guess. Mine is CARB legal but mines not an EP either so that doesn't help you in anyway. But I said is so you would know it is possible.
