I couldn't find it on majestic diagrams, I am looking for the black trim piece that sits on top of the door, i would call it window sill trim pc. it is on the outside. if your window was down and you rest your arm on the door you would be touching it.

I thought I was the only one with this problem. Do you know how to slow it down/prevent it from cracking?

I have no idea only my passenger side trim is flaking paint maybe because of the sun and direction of my driveway. It looks like crap and flakes off when I wash too so I am going to take it off and paint it.

i bought both sides about 3 months ago. Mine were cracked to hell. Its worth the 100 dollars with shipping. Seriously

Thank you! I just found this post. I have been looking everywhere for these trim pieces. Finally! I found them. Ordering up both sides right now.

they were super easy to install. Took only 20 minutes or so with GF's help. IIRC, you need to remove the tweeter thing, unbolt the side mirrors, pry off old peices and replace with new ones.

I think all of them crack, stainless steel with rubber coating..great idea. I'm thinkin of scraping the rubber off mine and laying down some matte black vinyl or hit it with epoxy paint to make sure it wont crack/flake.

120+ degree temps from Arizona summers really tore mine up. It was crispy

when I received my new ones like 7 months ago, I had no idea that they were made out of rubber rofl. I make sure to put on 303 aerospace protectant on them every week. Especially during summer

Mine look just like Codyep3 were! They look absolutely horrible on my car. I contemplated stripping and painting them but just seemed like a pain in the ass. Perhaps I will do it just to see the results.

Someone with skills (I don't have them)should scrape it down to metal, wrap it with CF vinyl http://www.cfwrap.com/, and show us the awesome result!

So the door trim pieces are currently being shipped to me. Sounds like I will need to take the door panels to remove the trim. I found this video that covers the trim removal for a 2000 Civic Coupe. Should be very similar for an 02 SI right?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVfpGzNGfX0

Also, has anybody ever purchse/used trim removal tools? Seems like they could be a good investment for dash removal and such as well.
Check them out:

Or here are is a much cheaper set:

I will also be ordering both door lock actuators and installing them while I have the door panels off. Maybe put in new speakers as well. Any other projects I should do while I have the panels off? Any tips and/or advice that anybody can offer with door panel and trim removal/speaker/ lock actuators will be helpful.

The door card removal is extremely easy, I can remove and install mine back in well under 30 minutes for both sides. I'll try and find the video I think that was Jpax removing his. You don't need any special tools at all.

Uh door card?? Is that the trim or the door panel you're talking about?

The panel itself, here's a DIY on the door locks

Still trying to find the other video I'm talking about.

just looked at the shop manual and it just says start from the front of the door (under the mirror after the mirror is removed) and the B-pillar cover is removed and just pull up, it will pull pop its self out. When I was pulling my b-pillars off, I managed to pull most of trim off by accident.

I received my window trim parts today. I am excited to install them, but I think I may order both lock actuators and install them while I got the door panels removed.

i bought both sides about 3 months ago. Mine were cracked to hell. Its worth the 100 dollars with shipping. Seriously

I hit mine (and MANY of my buddies door sills) with a strip of gaffers tape that's width perfectly covers it.. Bam!.. Done!.. Clean!
I put a new strip on about once a year.
