For the others
So in my anal retentive episode i had this weekend i started focusing less on more power, and more on reliability and making sure the car was comfortable. Now the car is going to be stored over the winter, so i do not want to have any water in my cooling system.

spill and fill, spill and fill, spill and fill. i used 20 gallons of water. 3 gallons of honda rad fluid.

So in my quest for perfection, i started at the radiator and getting it flushed.

Here are some pics:

please note this is just rusty crappy water...no oil is in the fluid. the car sat for 2 years.

radiator damage from the drive from skunk2 to boston... the big one on the top right had to be a prior to me, install or something. car never overheats or ever shows signs of hi-temp. i monitor it with my laptop(kpro)

So basically i kept runningwater through it until the water was beautiful and clear coming out. then ran a ton of Honda Rad Fluid thorugh it. and honda rad fluid is what shall stay in it from now on.

I had to do this because of the winter, and becuase water freezes and ice expands...and thats no fun. granted its garaged but there is no heat in there. its better to be safe then out of 6-10grand on a built motor.

Just figured id show you guys what i was doing.
ill have more pics later tonight.

your fine, i had straight water, a 5050 mix that you buy at the store should be fine. but check the packaging. ( with a 50/50 99.9% of the time its made for winter)

Definitely seems to have taken a beating, but looks like it could handle a lot more!

Yeah even the stock rad gets really chewed up rather easily, but a grillecraft insert works wonders with keeping the larger, more damaging objects from striking the rad.

yeah i was actually thinking of putting some high tensile strength screen from windows...or something. next season ill get a new rad and then boom, ill be all set.

The only problem with the grillecraft is that it doesnt take long before it starts corroding.
