would not recommend it. i installed skunk2 turbo cams stage 1 in my a3 at 7psi and gained 6hp and like 3ft ilbs of tourqe. now if you got them new for 200 like i did then i would say go for it. but i think you should spend maybe 100 more dollars and go with the a2 head, way bigger hp upgrade.

I hope you have kpro. You'll need it with any aftermarket cam.

i had stage 3 NA cams in my ep3, made 196hp and 142tq. 4 months later the timing chain tensioner failed and the motor blew. If you decide to do this, get the hybrid racing tensioner or skunk2 tensioner. Also need kpro and springs and retainers if you go stage 2 or higher i believe

with a 07+ upper chain guide and a lower crank sprocket guard youu can run the engine without the TCT even being installed, I have.

The issue with the skunk2 stage 3 A3 cams are the same as their A2 stage 2 cams, the fasramp tech is not intended for a chain drive cam, but meant for a belt drive that absorbs the shock.

go with a heavy duty timing chain and a Hybrid TCT, 07'+Z3 upper chain guide and the afterarket lower guard and the cam timing setup will be as strong as possible.

Yes it does, and has worked very well for about 6 years now. Cheap isnt really what I would call it though....
