Low temp t stat ?

So its going to start to get real cold over here in the northeast soon. Im running a koyo rad. and even when its only like 40* out my hatch runs real cold. Mybe only a little less then 1/4 of the way up, when I start to blast the heat the temp on the guage just drops to nothing. What can I do to stop it ?

Have you checked your thermostat? Is it possible that it is stuck open?

I havent had the chance to check it out. The temp is usally fine if I let the car heat up for awhile. It just drops a lot if I blast the heat, would a low temp t stat help?

The Koyo is a little more efficient , but the "T"stat should be able to deal with it. I would check the tstat out.
