So I'm looking for more power off the line from my Si and I have about $500 to burn. I bought my ep3 about 3 months ago and I have been wanting more power from it since.
It has DC headers that I know of and no other mods.
Any suggestions ?

can a reflash be done at any local mechanic shop ? typically what are some of the benefits from a reflash.
thanks

You're sold a piece of paper that you fill out according to what your car is ~VIN, Model and year and Engine, and then you take your immobilizer off, take out your ECU, and your key and mail it to Torrence California or whereever it is.
And turn around time was amazing, I sent mine out Friday and got it back Monday I think, either monday or tuesday one of the two.

Hondata reflash (http://hondata.com/reflash_civicsi.html) is $295. Corsport and some other vendors here sell it.
http://hondata.com/images/k30a3civicsistockvstune.gif

10-12 Peak HP gain depending on the dyno and modifications
4-9 ft lb torque across the rev range
Power peak raised 400 rpm from 6300 rpm to 6700 rpm (higher with raceheader)
Rev limiter raised to 7700 rpm.
Fully dealer compatible - works with all Honda scan tools and equipment.
0-60 mph times improved by 1 second.

With just Intake/RH/Exhaust and it smoothed out the power band and Im not running as lean as I was before the reflash.

Hope this helps.

^ that and/or an apexi ws2 exhuast (google shopping ~$432.69 shipped) and if you had mehbeh another $200 - the reflash basically goes towards kpro when/if you decide to get that. worth every penny.

Not to spoil the party but you should be aware that you'll have to run the higher octane gas if you have the reflash done by Hondata. Still worth it in my opinion.

So I went on hondata web site and found a local dealer in HAMPSTEAD, NH. They seem like a good laggit shop. Anyone on ephatch ever use them for anything ?
I might have them reflash my ecu as they are a Hondata registered dealer.
Not really sure how I feel though about using 91octane only since in my area it $3.00 + a gallon.

But with the 91 you will be getting better fuel economy along with the additional power. That usually covers the additional fuel costs.

with my current mods I get about 260 to 280 or so on a full tank of gas. With a reflash and using 91 octane be that much more noticible in terms of MPG's ?

I ordered reflash locally like you're considering and I was hit with taxes and what not, so I'd suggest doing it through someone reputable online. PM our vendors and see what they can do for you if you're wanting to save some money.
&&When are you shifting, assuming you just cruise around when you're going to work/school or whatever.. cause that'll have more effect than most anything. Theres way too many factors for MPG to even go down that road on this thread but you should be getting at least 300miles a tank, with reflash and other stuff Im getting 325 or more before the light comes on with reflash.

Got in contact with a local shop and was told to send it to Hondata and they will take care of it. this is the info I received:

The Re-flash is $295 and $15.00 each way for Shipping to Hondata. Please keep in mind that they are in California and the shipment times are between 5 and 7 days each way. If you would like expedited next day shipping it is $50.00 each way. Hondata requires one business day to complete the re-flash.

Hondata Re-flash: $295
Standard Shipping Option: $30
Next Day Shipping Option: $100

As this is my DD I would have to go with the next day delivery but $100 for shipping is outrageous.
