As I was tracking down some numbers and dyno graphs for another member something told me to look up some of our competitors, namely the Acura Integra GS-R, and see how they faired with the same mods. Here is what I found...

Stock WHP on the GS-R, according to the dyno graph from Comptech, has a peak of 149. That is 6 HP more than our Si.

After the same mods on both cars, from the same company, the GS-R topped out at 155, out Si, a very nice 154. That is a differnce of only 1 horse. Not too shabby. The GS-R gained 6 were we gained 11.

I attached the charts for your reference.

I understand why the ITR has some parastitic loss, because of the Torsen axle.

But why does the GS-R have more parasitic loss than the EP3?

According to their Dyno a stock '02 Civic Si makes 143 Hp. That seems kinda high. That's about a 10% drivetrain loss.

yeah i think that dyno is off. stock Si should make like 130-135.

GSR has more parasitic loss due to the power steering vs the electric power steering we have.Thats one reason these cars are making good power. No belt driven PS pump.....GOTTA be worth a couple hp....
