I have been dealing with a rev limit of 4k ever since replacing a head gasket, the other day when leting the car warm up I gave it a good rev and the the 4k limit was gone and it was set to 7k. I was happy with that untill the next day I checked it and and the 4k limit was set back on. So I shut the car off and started it again, the rev limit was gone again untill later that day.. I also have a CEL on but when I scan it there are no DTC's stored and when I clear the ECU the CEL comes back on after about 2 miles. Stock ECU no KPRO it might have been reflashed in the past im not shure.. Any one have ne advice?

Check that the VTEC oil pressure switch is plugged in tightly, also check the engine oil pressure switch connector.

Check the oil level.

Try another DTC tool.

I recently checked them, but ill give them another look.. The DTC tool is a kick ass 7,000$ MAC tools one so I think if anything was stored that would pull it.
