So i just bought some aftermarket tweeters and can't seem to get them to fit the tweeter sail panel. Do you guys have any suggestions on this matter?? I bought some 1" power acoustik tweeters off amazon, wasn't looking for anything crazy. Any help will be great, thanks.

Well im not sure how others are doing it but im trying to squeeze it into the pod that fits into the sail panel. It just keeps popping out so not by much but if I cant get it in there, not sure of how else to install it into the stock panel.

Hmm. Guess this might explain why the audio shop hotglued my tweets into the sail panel..

I'm thinking about dremeling the inside a bit to smooth it out and then sticking the tweeter in with a lil help of 3m tape but not sure how well that will work. What do you think Chad?? I know you got lots of knowledge on this lol.

i have 1 inch tweets in mine, i just took a razorblade and cut little by little untilled it was a tight fit and then hot glued the back of it to hold it in.

I used a dremel sanding drum and removed the lips inside the hole and some media also. Since I use non-car specific tweets I then grind down the faceplate of the tweet to fit and hot-glue them in... Not your wife's pussy ass hot glue gun either, if it's pastel in color, it sucks, no low-melt shit. Use a good glue gun.

Here's some pics.... of what can happen.

The Seas Neo fits in like a dream. I did not care for them as much as what I've had in the past two tweets, morel and seas:

Vifa surplus tweets from M&K, got them for 4 bucks each and they SMOKED the seas, sounded fab! Like old-skool a/d/s tweets to be honest.

Not being able to leave anything alone I went with vifa ring radiators. Slightly better than the Surplus ones in that they are more accurate, they are not as "welcome home" sounding but still are VERY non-fatiguing.

They do make plastic filler to fill the gaps, but with the way I change things, I just rock it. I have 2 sets of sails I can swap out.

Hey Chad, was thinking of buying a Dewalt heat gun (http://www.amazon.com/DeWALT-D26950-DEWALT-Heat-Gun/dp/B00307B4P0/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I1A1VM7SYV6POE&colid=7OOVNWER8ILJ) to remove the aftermarket tweets and install some new ones. Good? Bad?

Any suggestions on a glue gun?

I had installed tweeters into the sail panels using hot glue. This placement absolutely sucks big raw green donkey dicks for sure!!! I have since replaced the sailpanels with stockies and installed the tweeters forwards on the "A" pillar using the backstrap popsicle method. This allows the tweeters to be aimed to get the proper sound stage.

I love the sail panel location. The A-pillar gave me too much phantom imaging due to glass reflection. Time alignment is a must for the sails but when dialed in, they do well.

Thanks a lot guys, that helped out a bunch. Now i just gotta find a buddy with a bad ass hot glue gun. I guess i'll play with it till it fits right to my likings.
