ok here is what i have got. i have a 02 ep with a 04 k20a2 with 80k on it currently i have rsx-s scu. everything is great on the car now no problems. im getting married and my wonderful wife is buying me a supercharger for my ep.

first question:
ep supercharger or rsx-s supercharger?

second question:
jackson supercharger or comptech?

third question:
with the k20a2 being a higher compression motor what is an ideal psi to run.... i have seen some rsx-s guys run up to 12 psi... is it the same in the ep?

fourth question:
i have done my research as far as the amount of power to expect out of the supercharger on a k20a2 in a rsx but what should i expect in the ep?

thank you in advance for your help.

1) Either. ALTHOUGH the EP setup literally bolts right up with no modification, where as the RSX JRSC kit sits differently, and therefore you may have to modify the rad/headlight support structure to clear the pulley. The benefit to running the RSX version is the ability to run an aftercooler which is beneficial for several reasons.

2) Again Either. ALTHOUGH I'm 99% sure Comptech's kit was designed solely for the RSX, therefore it sits like the RSX JRSC kit. They are also more expensive as well and harder to come by.

3) PSI is solely determined by the user and what you are trying to achieve power wise, while retaining reliability. The amount of PSI is attained by utilizing different supercharger and crank pulleys. Its a bit of a science, depending on what setup you are running, to achieve the ideal psi for your setup. I'd say 7-9psi is the average, any higher than that you better start looking into alternative forms of cooling.

4) Why would the same supercharged k20a2 in a RSX make different power in an EP? Granted everything is the same in terms of setup, expect to make similar, if not identical numbers. I'd say 300whp is a safe and attainable goal with a blown a2.

I am by no means an expert, but I hope I shed some light on a couple things. I'm sure some of the big supercharger guys can chime in here.

1. Pooptooth hit it head on with one thing that I think he left out. I believe the tensioner is different for the EP kit as the DC5 kit has to allow for the power steering pump and thus has different belt routing than the EP. I won't swear to that but I think its the case.

2. Is Comptech still in business? I know they had problems but haven't heard anything lately. I say JRSC because there is more being done with the JRSC like the aftercooler.

3. PSI is a tough question and I would have to know about your specific setup and goals before I will make a suggestion.

yes in the ep with the k20a2 swap you have to replace the powersteering pump with the idler pulley which i have done. that is the main reason that i asked about weather or not to go with the ep blower or rsx. all i have done to my car is BCRH, arc intake, full catback hks high power exhaust, no internal work has been done to the motor.... would 9 psi get me 300 whp with kpro and a nice tune?

so basically you need to pick a number and make it your goal. to break 300 you'll need some sort of cooling. the dc5 kit works with the aftercooler made by jmercado. quite pricey, but as solid as it gets. he also makes an aftercooler for the comptech kits.

the ep kit will be cheaper up front. also with either kit you can run methanol injection, a miracle of physics. stwatson has posted the most thurough info i've yet seen on a honda forum. grab a snack and read this...

you can crack 300whp with an ep kit and meth with a solid tune. a friend of mine is at about 297 with a dc5 jrsc @ 11-12 psi. the engine is a z3 head and internals with an a2 oil pump. no cooling yet. it will smash 300 with his meth kit.

one of the major things you can do is purchasing a good race header and 3" exhaust. you should have a 3" CAI.

I am wondering if the Ktuned alternator relocator kit would help the blower spin faster OR would it make it slower, OR the same.

Check the classifieds!

Good Luck with the build, I was very concerned with reliability and went with the Jackson race kit (no Kpro) and I/Rh/E and have put close to 80,000 miles on with only changing a tensioner pulley and belts. All on stock internals.
