Haha thanks man! I've only been driving it for 24 hours and I'm madly in love. I'll just have to keep it under warranty in order to STAY in love, lol. The EP had a more raw feel to it but this car is just so refined and can still get naughty (after a break-in period, of course).

They took it and handed me a terrible trade-in value for it. It had a good bit of body damage by hit and run parking lot stuff and a couple of really crazy electrical problems and transmission issues. Nothing that couldn't have been sorted out sooner or later but I was ready to be rid of it even at the low amount they gave me.

It was one of three in the country that had the HIDs (a necessity considering how much time I spent trying to get them installed on my EP) and the HK speaker set, and happened to be in my favorite exterior/interior color combination. That was the point at which I decided that this had to be my car, even though it doesn't have a moonroof. The body lines are more pronounced without it, I think. Sort of reminds me of the M Coupe in the sense that the upper curve to the car isn't interrupted by a moonroof. That's me trying to sound like you while finding an excuse for not having a moonroof, lol. But seriously.

That's true! There is SO much I'm getting used to in this car, it drives completely differently in just about every way. The shifts are wayyy longer than on my EP3 between the race inspired shifter and the BCSS installed. This is more of a standard manual, but the throws feel so long since I'm used to the EP3.

I like it too. The 1 series has a very good chassis., no doubt. My brother's gf get a blk 128i last year with a auto tran. heard the motor make pretty good tq and hp (around 240wish). Good for your brother..

It sure does, included in the sale price of the vehicle is 4 years/25k miles of maintenance and warranty, basically everything but the tires is not my problem. Of course, pretending that that coverage is "free" is kind of like saying you get free parking at a private university... you paid for it already. But it is a lot of peace of mind.

Yeah supposedly it's 230 hp and 200 lb ft, so it's not actually too much faster than my EP was, but the RWD and ridiculously lithe handling characteristics combined with the creature comforts of a Bimmer really turn me on to the car. I never really wanted a speed demon. People that want that out of a 1 series could just grab a 135i I guess, lol.

Very nice, dude! :thumbu:

Thanks, Shane! I'm loving it thus far (but I haven't paid for a tank of gas yet...)

Haha NICE. The thing is as much as I like it, I bet the exhaust note could be had without paying that much for the car. I'm just not rich enough or performance oriented enough to just have to have the M. I have the M kit which does well enough for me :)

ooooohhhhhhh!!! congrats! We both bought new cars LOL. I never looked into the 1 series (thought they were too small for a 4 seater), but we almost have the same taste in cars. I was looking at the the alpine white Z4, Z4M, and 335i for the longest time, but having an S2000 made me second guess the thought of jumping back into a roadster. So jealous right now =).

Yeah I'm basically treating it like a 2 seater, I figured this is just about the one time in my life where I'd be able to get away with driving a car this little as my only DD and without using it as a mid-life crisis crutch. The backseat is sort of an afterthought.

It drives SO well! I think just the fact that it's such a little RWD car on a sport-tuned suspension and some sick tires just wows me because (again) I never really tuned my EP or any other car to handle well and this one just handles well stock. I'm having a lot of fun thus far.

Probably ordering the CF rear diffuser, CF "spoiler" and performance exhaust in the coming weeks. Then it's time to start calling wheel companies to see if they wanna make me a set of unique wheels given this car's weird offsets.

On a bmw the pricks are on the inside. Hahaha. Beautiful car man! Very good chance an e46 m3 is my next car. Or a 335i:) any word on the carbon parts, exhaust,or wheels?

I'm being lame and not spending money right now. I think my tax return will probably convince me to order some stuff, now I'm kicking myself because even if I do order some things they wouldn't be ready for Import Atlanta. The CF parts and exhaust are gonna be easy, but wheel shopping for this car is gonna suck...

I knew you wouldn't leave the car alone  I even clicked on the thread thinking, "alright, les see what he's up to.". Sooo speaking of which...what style wheels do you want, what size, you sticking to oem offset? What lug pattern...im bored and want to poke around the net. Shopping for wheels for a bmw is ALWAYS annoying...also what kinda money are you going to spend on them?

I honestly want to just call Enkei and ask them to make me unique RPF-1s. The only reason I'd stick close to OEM offset is to make sure they fit, I don't really want to go with aftermarket suspension pieces other than something very simple like spacers. People on 1addicts are running like 9.5 inches wide in the rear or something crazy. I'm really down to do something like that but I'd be sold if I didn't have to drop the car or play with camber, mostly because I'm lazy and I've never understood how to fit wheels well. As far as price of the wheels, if I fall in love I'll buy them, I guess I'd prefer to spend less than 3k by the time there are tires on them.

Ding 4100 miles. I called Work to see if I could do the special finish on some Emotions in my really weird sizing and the guy said a one piece rim is basically never going to get that customized, they can only do shit if they can throw a different barrel on the same wheel at a different offset. And honestly I'm in such a money saving kind of mood (considering house shopping) that I probably won't swap out the M Sport wheels.

Sold-- as much as I loved driving this car, I'm not sure I'll ever love any car enough to pay $400 dollars a month to drive it. And I got a very project-related, modifiable car. :D
