I need a new windshield, and the glass shop is recommending I purchase the black long rubber weatherstripping that goes along the left and right of our windshields (on the a-pillar).

I've heard the dealer charges $100 per! (RIPOFF).. is there anywhere I can purchase these online or cheaper for our EP3s? A local mechanic said they usually just glue them back down because the clips that hold the stock ones in break, but I wouldn't mind replacing them if they are inexpensive enough.

Thanks!

Sorry guys maybe someone can make some sense of this. Does part #4 and #5 come with all the things outlined in it? Like the actual square outline in the drawing. I just don't know what I need to buy, I have no problem buying a bunch of additional clips, I just don't want to purchase something if its already coming in the #4 and #5 "kit".

everything (9,10,11) inside the outlined 'box' should come in 4 & 5. the catalog is just saying if you need just 9,10 or 11 that they can be purchased separately.

Hmmm...just had my windshield replaced not too long ago, and didn't need to pick any of that up. Guys came out, did it in the garage, no new parts needed.
Maybe they plan on breakin' your shit while they work!

Most of the time they just glue the weather strips back on, but I want to have them done right since I just had my windshield replaced less than a year ago and it cracked during the summer from a stone chip. When I called Speedy Glass here in Canada the guy mentioned that I should purchase them and they will replace the upper weather stripping as that's standard.

It most likely is, I had my indie mechanic say any time you remove that weather stripping you break the tabs (there's really no way around it) so they just glue them back. Not a big deal, I just wanted it back to factory spec when I get a new windshield.
