Hello all,
Just recently I replaced my front rotors and re-lubed the caliper slide pins. Before that I was having issues with my brakes in the winter. The problem is back again this winter. I'm going to buy new caliper pins, but I want to know what lube I should use for them.
Thanks

You need to use a synthetic grease, the dino based crap gets as stiff as earwax.....
This is the only stuff I will use http://www.crcindustries.com/ei/content/prod_detail.aspx?S=Y&PN=05351

I found out the hard way that you don't want a grease that absorbs moisture either. I stupidly used some generic high temp dino axle grease on a car quite a few years ago and the pins (and pin holes) turned into little blobs of rust!
Use the right tool (or lube) for the job.

I'm pretty sure I used the CRC synthetic grease the last time I did my brakes and it wasn't that long ago. How much lube do you suggest? I thought just a thin layer on the pins would suffice. Possibly not enough lube/wrong lube/after market pins could be the issue. Not sure. When I do this I want to do it right. Thanks
