Can i use the stock a3 pump when i get my k24a1 fully swapped? Ive heard i HAVE to use an a2 or z3 pump but on my budget i really cant afford idt. If i have to do a differenf pump what else do i have to get to go with it and where is the best place to find these parts?

You do not HAVE to use an a2 or z3 pump. I would use the stock a1 pump in your situation. The balance shafts will reduce vibration from the a1 crank/internals - no point in swapping it for the a3 pump since it prob has diff balance shafts designed for the a3 crank.

DO NOT use the A3 pump on the A1, the balance shafts are not correct and will cause vibrations. You may be able to swap the a1 shafts into the A3 pump, it is not something I have looked at.

I NEVER reuse a old oil pump in a rebuild

if youre on a budget, keep the stocker.

Just stay with the a1 pump, youll be fine. BTW, what are your plans anyways?

Just k24a1, crsx raceheader, ep3 manifold, pwjdm powerchamber, kpro, and an exhaust. Also a cc stage 1.5 clutch and lightweight flywheel. Prolly gonna be dissapointed. A members sellin skunk 2 stage 2 cams but dont know if i trust myself to mess with internals.

ya just stay with the a1 pump, youll be fine, just watch the RPM's you set in Kpro, no need to go over 7200 really.

If you have left the internals unmolested, there is no sense in messing around with swapping out pumps. The A3 and A1 pumps are basically identicle accept for different weight shafts.

How about if i do some skunk stage 2 cams and 07 si valve springs and retainers? Still good on stock pump?

Is it really hard to take off the oil pump ? reason I ask is I might suspect a leak there haven't had the chance to look at it

What about a S2000 oil pump ? That is far from a budget alternative and entirely not needed the only reason to go with a S2k pump is to spin over 9000 rpm's and you will not do that with a K24.

The oil pump is not hard to remove, just time consuming. Suspect a leak, what thread are you reading????

hmmm...

i have been debating for years whether or not i need to swap my A2 pump for this S2K. I mean, the oil pump is already removed from the block. I might as well, right? since this motor is built, don't want to have to change the pump when things are together.

Check front and rear seal areas, Simply remove flywheel inspection plate to check rear, and im sure you know where front is (behind crank) thats the usuall for oil leaks.

I've checked most of those place and the sad thing the oil is everywhere... I was read on timing chain drive cars some times it leaks oil from crank sensor... hopefully that's a quick replace and problem solved

ya crank sensor is very easy to access.
