Im currently collecting parts for my 5 lug swap, im pretty much getting a whole Type S suspension(spindle, hub, caliper, etc) besides the strut and shocks

My question is should i just get Rsx Type S specific coilovers? i currently have racelands and looking to have them replaced with something better

why should you get type s specific coilovers?

Either one would work.

If you are replacing the whole rear trailing arm along with the hubs then i say get DC5 specific coils cause the DC5's are wider at the base then the EP3. And Make sure to also get the DC5 front tie rod ends to match with the DC5 coilover.

If you are not replacing the rear trailing arm then i see no reason to buy a DC5 specific coilover. The EP3 coilover/stock suspension will bolt right up with the front DC5 hub and you can still use your stock tie rod ends since you are already using EP3 coilovers.

I was thinking of replacing pretty much what ever is connected to the knuckle, also using the dc5 LCA's, pretty much slap on what ever in on the DC5 onto my ep

what year is is the 5 lug in? If its from 02-04 you can use the EP3 LCA's so you wouldn't have to replace them. If you get the 05-06 then you have to run the DC5 05-06 LCA's.

The only reason i asked if you are going to replace the rear trailing arm with the DC5 one is because the DC5's have a wider opening where the coilover/shock bolts up. So if you were going that route then you absolutely have to get DC5 coilovers in order to have it fit in there. Some people buy the DC5 coils and use them on EP trailing arms but you would have to grind some of the material away in order to have it fit. And you can take material off to make it fit but you cant add it.. you know what i mean?
The front is not that big of an issue because all you would have to replace is just the tie rod ends with the DC5 coils. But if you have the 05-06 knuckle you MUST also use the 05-06 LCA because the holes are much larger then the 02-05 EP and 02-04 DC LCA's. The EP and 02-04 DC5 LCAs are the same.

No problem. Just make sure that you get the trailing arms too. It's not really necessary but at least then you wont have to grind the coilover ends to make them fit.

I have type s trailing arms in my garage, if you were local I would literally just give them to you lol
