im having a hard time on deciding what exhaust i want for my ep does anyone have experience with any aftermarket exhausts including pros and cons thank you

nope, no one on here uses aftermarket exhausts...

there are many exhausts in different sizes and noise levels, we need a lot more information from you to help you pick an exhaust...
how much are you willing to spend, what mods do you have now and what are you planning on doing in the future...for n/a you need the smallest exhaust diameter for the power output to maintain exhaust velocity, with a supercharger you want to run about 2.5 but no bigger, smaller might limit hp...for turbo you need to go bigger on the exhaust...

there are plenty of threads in this section you posted in already covering exhausts, please search and read whats already been posted, THEN you should ask our opinions on a few different exhausts for your application

since you are new, i suggest reading these two stickied threads if you havnt already...i also suggest next time using the search function since this has been covered many times...

posts only count in certain sections such as discussion and tech...i highly suggest ditching the shorty header eventually, they suck a lot...i also suggest contacting our vendors, they should be able to help you out on the price of the exhaust...if you can run the car without a cat, that will help but you will have to run an o2 sim on the secondary sensor so the car doesnt throw a code...also i suggest for now, get an 2.25" diameter exhaust, that will keep your velocity up and produce the best power

most new cats have defoulers i was thinking if doing that ive never bought from the venders on here i just go to their section on the thread selection im guessing what will ditching the shorty and going to a race header do i know it deletes the cat and improves airflow but anything else sorry for all the questions just trying to get get opinions and help

the shorty does not flow or stage velocities as efficiently, a proper race header will produce twice the power of a shorty if not more...the best bang for your buck right now would be a kid krusher header, or whatever its called, a 2.25" midpipe that corresponds to the header (if the raceheader is type s/type r, buy a type s/type r specific midpipe...for usdm ep3 header, usdm ep3 midpipe...only difference is length off the header and midpipe...no fitment issues, though you may need a secondary o2 extension for a type s/type r spec header)...a type s midpipe would work fine, or megan...just find one that bolts up and is the right diameter...then get yourself an oem axle back...that would be the most bang for your buck and you would get the header in which will produce more power...

NOW, as for the vendors, just PM them once you find what you want to buy and from whom...you give them your information and paypal them the agreed upon price

thanks man i was looking into getting a spoon n1 style axle back and ill see what mm my mid pipe is now once i get my exhaust off and ive heard good things about the kidd race headers they are basically the same as the ssr's so i might try to ge the kidd header use my mid pipe if its the right mm and the spoon n1 for now

i have a dc race header with no cat. stock modded airbox with a spoon filter and skunk2 megapower exhaust and i love it.if i could afford the skunk2 mega power header of kid racing one i would get one of them. ive always prefered skunk2 because of their NA cars. theyve paid alot of attention to doin that until recently theyve ventured into boost but. skunk2 just makes good shit imo.

I'm running a buddyclub prospec catback with no header and I'm pretty much very very very happy with it. It's LOUD as hell no matter what, even with the silencer in it. So it's definitely not for the faint of heart or people that are afraid of the police. I got it for under $300 here on EPHATCH classifieds section. You should check out that section for sure.

i want something loud but not annoyingly loud the spoon has a smaler diameter so id expect it to be alittle louder and the buddyclub a deeper tone ive been looking up everything possible on youtube and seeing how they sound and the spoon is deffinately the best sounding so far imo

no the spec 2 is an overpriced straight pipe...they dont make one for the ep, but they do make one for the dc5, but it will be too long on the ep, so it would need to be shortened

im lookin at one on here for 375 then as for the header i can get one for 425 from kidd racing i think itll be my best bet this way ill be making more power and enough back pressure if i end up going along with this setup ill post some vids

back pressure is bullshit...exhaust velocity is what you need to think about...the concept is like a garden hose, restrict it down to increase velocity of the flow but not enough to choke it, open it up too much and the air will just tumble out the exhaust...

get a 2.25" midpipe to go with it

I also think if you aren't boosted the sound of the Spoon N1 is pretty raspy for some reason. I hear it on Sucka's car and it's not even loud but on an N/A car its just raspy. My ProSpec is loud in that you can hear it from 2 streets over no problem. Very low tones when i'm just putting around town but open it up and it's like wow please pull me over.

I'm just not a fan of how the N1 looks out back, I was going to get one at first then saw it looks like a pea shooter literally and scrapped the idea. I wish a company would come out with a nice designed dual tip. Magnaflow is crap and megan racing is....megan racing lol!

I love loud exhausts butcops around here dont leave anyone with a loud exhaust alone even if you are trying to stay quiet the spoon has a unique look to it aslong as it performs idc haha the exhaust i have now sets off car alarms yours probably does more than mine haha

Apex'i World Sport 2. clean. quiet. ep specific. 2.35" piping (i think...) doesn't look like a bazooka.

i love my skunk i have 2.25 piping. thinkin about doing 2.5 soon though. i love my skunk tho loud as a bitch when i get down on it but i can keep it deep and quiet around town, and it doesnt drone at highway. i can have a normal convo even going 80 at almost 4k.i like the spoon and mugen exhausts and they sound good but if the car isnt set up right then the small single tip kinda looks a little funny. the ep is a bulky looking car so i think a bigger exhaust compliments it better.

No problem, glad to help...personally that's probably the exhaust setup id go with if I had another stock ep to work with...like I said before, just make sure you match the header and midpipe...if it is type r/type s spec header, get either type s/type r mid...or usdm ep3 header, usdm ep3 spec mid...don't want to screw that up and have to eat the cost of the new part or have to mod it

i just ordered the spoon n1 today hopefully ill like it and i have my mind set on the kiddracing headers i heard its a hit or miss with them but im going to take my chances with that product and go with the megan mid pipe if i have to ge a new one i think it will be a pretty legit setup hopefully get me alittle more hp than i have now even tho i have a feeling the piping i have now is probably bigger in diameter

I have a Apexi WS2 (world sport 2) with a OBX full header. Car does not sound annoying for those like me that hate hearing the exhaust when cruising (I drive from Az to Cali a lot). The exhaust does not look like a fart can and fits very cleanly .

Heres how it looks

I had WS2 with KRRH and it was very quiet and good low/mid pick up. Now, I'm rolling with custom fabbed 3" pipe with Vibrant dual tip stealth muffler with large resonator fit very close to the end. At normal DD'ing, noise level is surprisingly quiet, but very low deep tone. At WOT, especially above 6k rpm, you can def. feel more unrestricted acceleration. So far, very satisfied!
