Before I was looking into doing this and came across this adapter. I don't know how it is, I just went all out and did everything.

Hope this helps.

Or a buddy of mine had a tape deck in his ep, use one of those tape adapters for an aux. Should be able to get one of those super cheap.

If you need an ipod interface that connects with our stock headunit look up the blitzsafe adapter

google for honda ipod adapter or zune adapter or aux adapter. it utilizes the 6cd changer port on the radio. There are universal systems that use the radio input and a power switch.

I may have an ipod adapter here for you, I'll need to look. THAT IS, if you are using an ipod. I'm sure it can be modded for a straight aux in but I ain't doing it because I don't have a way to test my work.

IIRC it's just audio in and charge ont ejipod end, so you could do one of 2 things. find a female ipod inline connector and attach RCA inputs (a ROYAL PITA to solder those) ot lop off the ipod connector and just use the L/R/Ground lines.

I THINK that will work, I don't believe that the PAC device needs an ipod connected to it to keep the headunit from skipping over that input. Someone that has one can verify this by disconnecting the ipod and seeing if they can get to that input.

I dont think that is what we need.

if you had the pin out for the aux plug on the stock unit. that would be awesome.

but this is basically what i have,
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/iSimple+-+iPod%26%23174%3B+Direct+Connect+Kit+for+Select+Ve hicles+(Basic+Install+Included)/1175224.p?id=1218230591310&skuId=1175224

but i got the universal one, so it came with an AUX port AND an IPod connector. the IPod connector went to shit aroudn teh connector itself, so i used my dead button by the shifter to mount the AUX port. works great.

i got mine severly discounted though. shop around. use google shopping.

http://www.amazon.com/Direct-iPod-Connector-1998-2004-Changer/dp/B000IZABU6

here. probably the best Ipod connector for the price.

http://www.amazon.com/PIE-HON98-AUX-Car-audio-switcher/dp/B000CKBLBU/ref=sr_1_27?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1296736116&sr=1-27

next best thing for a universal, just need a rca-3.5 cable to a female 3.5 jack to mount if you want that.

The hon98 PIE aux adapter is cheaper than most or if I may, all other adapters. It works really well and I haven't had any trouble with it. Just make sure it has the blue 14pin connection. They are about 50, don't believe other ones going for more than that. I bought it myself at ebay,

here you go
http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=hon98&_sacat=See-All-Categories

look for a seller named "autoware302", he sells them the cheapest.

i'm debating this mod too (just putting in an aux out from the stock unit)....
but isn't it easier just to get a new cheap deck?
i'm looking on best buy and an alpine with ipod interface - Alpine MP3/WMA CD Car Deck With iPod Control (CDE-121) - is only $100.
thoughts?

Some people perfer for the dash to look stock. When you go aftermarket its usually flashy and or doesnt match the interior the way the stock unit does. Other than that most aftermarket units are superior in quality and features compared to the stock unit.
