i've put 60,000 kms plus what the previous owner put on the car with KYB struts and H&R's.. and my car goes down to the extreme -30*C temps, and i dont have any leaks or banging.

and from when i bought a pair of kyb's for my skunk2 springs in my em1, they werent that expensive at all i think the pair was under 150 bucks

I would just get a camber kit and some racelands I have the Tokico blues and they suck. You prob would end up saving some $$ in the end too..

In all honesty you're going to have a hard time getting much anything spring and strut/shock for 500 that's very good...buy racelands and save 200...

The best lowering springs you can get are progress springs in my oppinion, and you can get those from one of the site vendors for $150 and the spring rates are very close to type r rates, ride is great, and lowering is 1.8f 1.5r and I feel is a very nice daily ride height...

With your budget you have 350 to spend after that...you could prolly get kyb shocks, they aren't bad, but they aren't great...tokicos will blow under heavy use in a year...I run koni shocks, but those alone are outside your budget...hope this helps...pm me if you have specific questions if you want

in case you miss read i had the skunk 2 kyb on my EM1

it rode like it was on rails, and wasnt too stiff, but also i had bfg g-forge sports that gripped fucking crazy, 285 with snail and factory LSD.... i have never bought another brand tire in my life.
heres how my old car sits.... lol

the skunk2's sat opposite as the ep3 with most lowering springs, the fronts were tucking tire, and the rears had like half inch of gap.
i dont know what happened to my other pictures, but the em1 is irrelevant to your ep3

Just got my ep and was thinking about getting tokico blues until i read this thread. I have tokico blues w/tanabe springs on my 95 civic vx and it rides and handles awesome.

So now i need some advice on what to get. I want to lower @ 1" but not make the car too much stiffer, if any, than stock. I dont plan on "racing" or autoxing either, just want a smooth and sporty ride with the lowered height. Any ideas?

Like the OP I've been looking for new strut/shocks to go with springs I like and already have. I can't justify the Tokico blues being spendy and just barely better than stock. Same with the KYB GR-2's. The D-spec Tokicos look good but are almost $600... I think I'm going to go with Koni's through ClubRsx/ep3 so I can split it up and get one pair soon and another later. I gave up on the thought of Racelands because I drive hard and don't think I could trust them on hillclimbs. Any other ideas for the OP?

I don't like Tokico Blues
They are the budget strut/shock that can some what take a lowering.
My friends have them in other model cars, but I am not a fan.

I'm on Koni Yellow's right now
Great stuff.

Koni and Bilstein are great dampeners.
Slightly out of your budget but definitely worth looking into.

try looking on the site sponsor corsportusa.com.... As far as i can remember i was going to buy through them as they were cheaper, plus for you in the states its free shiping... and you can buy the front pair and rear pair separately.

Thanks, but I checked them out and ClubRSX/ep3 is about $100. cheaper for the front pair, and $50. less for the rears.
