2 point? You mean 4 point? Also sparco harnesses suck, I could never keep them tight in my old car...

I suggest buying something with a camlock, also suggest 5 point so you have the option...you should look at crow, simpson, or impact

they actually have 3 point over shoulder and lap harnesses, they just have the 2 shoulder straps meet into one anchor...

make sure you route yopur belts properly. i believe 15 degree's angle from your shoulder/neck is the rule...

A lot of people over look CROW harnesses. They are super good quality and are very affordable.

Are your mounted to the head rest in the back? Tough to tell in that picture.

Was going to be my suggestion as well.

I've sat it lots of different ones I prefer a wider webbing like 3".Some of them make narrow 2" crap that I didn't really like. If you can get past the green of Takata's they really are nice and easy to adjust. My new Willians are also very nice and comfy, if you can wait long enough to order them in, plus they come in any color you can imagine.

In to find out where CustomX's harnesses are attached.
I've toyed with the idea of going for a harness, but don't want to remove the rear seats if possible.
So, if there's a way, I might be down :D

Can't you just use a harness bar? getting into the rear seats my be difficult, but I don't think you have to remove them

I like my Simpson units. Not JDM at all, but they do the Job!

It is essential that you incorporate a harness bar, there is ABSOLUTELY no safe way to mount the shoulder harnesses in the EP3 without a harness bar ! ! !

If you were to be in an accident with the usual half-assed procedure of routing the shoulder belts through the seat openings under the head rest and then downwards to connect to the chassis, you will be in a world of hurt and probably will never walk or move an arm ever again!

Yeah, obviously you need a harness bar  Sorry if I sounded like I was trying to not use one. I just wasn't sure how you set up a bar and retain function/safety in the back seats, ya know?

You can not maintain easy rear seat access with a harness bar, nor would it be safe for a rear seat occupant.

Well there it is then.
That's what I was afraid of. AH well, no harness for me until I can turn her in to a strictly weekend/project car then. :mtongue:

The angle the harness sits at mounted to the rear seatbelt mounts it right on the limit that most of the manufacturers recommend...... 45 degrees.

With that said get a harness bar.... they're not that expensive.

lol i was just going to say... people in the back would leave their teeth on the carpet after an accident lol

I just put "Crow harnesses" in google and a bunch of places came up. Just look around a little for the best deal.

my harness goes straight over the top of the seat and then mounts to a bracket attached to the frame on the bottom of the car...so its like..straight back...down the seat...

ill have to take a pic for you.

But a harness bar is being purchased spring time... just so i dont have a super long harness strap running around the car. its neater and safer having the harness bar.

I am getting an autopower roll bar/sport cage... unsure. Depending on the scca rules etc what i get away with.

If you look..youll see a 2inch- dark red strip goin down the back of the seat. 2 of them..one on the left and right.

those are the harness. they are mounted down on the frame. anyway, shit picture...ill see what i can do. this was after driving the grand canyon 14 mile dirt road...everything in trunk was absolutely covered in dust/dirt...it sucked!

Yea that's not safe.... what if the rear seat failed and folded down in an accident. You would lose belt tension.

what if i got in an accident while passengers were in the back and the back seat failed? the back seats i dont think are going to fail in an accident..they are designed to carry people.

This car passed tech @ button willow raceway so it must be an accepted way of mounting belts.

AND i didnt say this was the best way in the entire world... the angle of the harness is what i wanted to show not the actual mounting locations...kids just bolt em down to the floor.

The rear seat belts mount to the car not the rear seat back. With how it's mounted you're relying on the seat back to hold in an accident.

ImportCustomx

like i said..i was just showing angle etc. not showing mounting locations.

and yes i am relying on the back seat...the seat that is bolted and latched to the frame of the car.

what if the seats were folded down to begin with and the harness wasnt relying on the seat...

thats usually how i run them.

done talking about me... stay on topic with the OP
