DC5 coilover in EP3.... how to grind down real bushing

Read up in lots of threads that to run DC5 coilovers in the rear you need to trim or shave down the rear coilover bushing that attaches to the rear trailing arm.... how did everyone go about shaving it down?

grinder. you can either shave down equal amounts on both sides or just shave one side down. i've heard of both being done withoug issues.
