Are you talking about the check engine light? ... you might be throwing codes, so you should get that checked and fixed right away.

hmm. it may be, its the light that looks like an outline of an engine/transmission light. I'll try and find someone to hook it up and see if it is.

No there's not a transmission light, he was confused. Only maint'd req'd (oil change) and check engine codes (something malfunctioning in the engine // emission codes)
EpThreeD go to advanced auto parts or something and get your code checked out, post it here and we'll figure out what you need to do

what..? You're not allowed to scan for codes?

Governator passed a law back in 05 preventing us from using scanners because we "messed" with emissions; Nazi-emission laws ftl

I went to autozone awhile ago, and they told me they weren't allowed to check it for me.. but then I went to Walmart on a weekday, and the guy had nothing else to do, so he just checked it for me and talked about cars for a few minutes.

I scanned it and it said manufacter air fuel. Any idea on this? Easy fix or something I should fix before driving the car? I haven't noticed really any difference while driving. Thanks

We need the code number. Sometimes what the scanner labels it is wrong cause it can be generic, the # is more precise to our car specifically instead of Hondas in general.

According to the .pdf file I have saved:
P1298 Electric Load Detector (ELD) Circuit High Voltage Comprehensive
P1166 Air/Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor (Sensor 1) Heater System Electrical Problem A/F sensor heater
P1166 Heated Oxgen Sensor Sensor1 (Primary HO2S) Heater Circuit Malfunction Comprehensive
(HO2S)
P1167 Air/Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor (Sensor 1) Heater System Malfunction A/F sensor heater
P1167 Heated Oxygen Sensor Sensor1 (Primary LAF HO2S) Heater System Malfunction A/F sensor heater

1298 is an ELD code, located in/under the fusebox. Click here (http://www.ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?56897-How-To-Replace-ELD-%28Electric-Load-Detector%29-w-part-%28P1298%29)

:pound: wow that is the most ridiculous thing I've heard..

yup..also because we "took away" customers to repair shops who charge to scan cars

Thanks guys, it will be ok to drive right? i plan to replace it this weekend. Just making sure.

So if I replace the Eld it will take care of the other codes??

Thanks Again.

Sounds like the second two codes are related to the Primary O2 sensor, so that could well need replacing, too.

Yeah you're fine as far as it working right but its something that does need to be taken care of soon..
Replacing the eld will get rid of the eld code and that's it. I wanna say they cost around $40ish & the primary o2 sensor is about $175+ depending on where you go.

Those codes are usually seen together, the heater section of the heated o2 sensors will eventually short out and then take out the sensors and the ELD.

So if i replaced the eld first and didnt do the o2 right away it make the eld go bad again?
