How does one go about using a reflashed ECU that isn't keyed to my immobilizer?

Would taking it to honda wipe the flash?

Are you sure? My friend has the ecu out of our friends smashed EP so I want to get it from him, but don't want to end up boned because I can't get it sync'd

iirc talon had a thread on this. there are specific instructions to sync the immobilizer without reflashing the whole ecu at the dealership. if i find the thread i'll post it up.

didnt know that. i do think i remember seeing that a while ago though.

if anything you should get it cheap, and just get kpro. i think they keep the serials for the ecus they do, so you could probably get a discount install.

then you can flash it all you want.

^this. hondata keeps a record of all ecus that they work on. if its been kpro'ed they'll know. if its been reflashed they will now if it was before or after the price drop. hope your friend's ecu is from before the price drop.
