removing factory headunit's volume/tuning knobs

Does any one know how to? I took my deck apart and painted the facia the same matte black as the rest of my dash to get it to match, but I cant figure out how to remove the volume/tuning knobs so i can paint them black too.

I'm thinking about picking up an em2 deck and tray with door depending on how much it'll cost.
Gotta scavenge the junkyards

tried, wont budge. Alot of factory radio knobs are keyed...like my old toyota radio, my buddies dodge radio out of his magnum. But I cant get these knobs off and I dont want to break them

em2 decks dont fit and neither does the pocket with the door, already tried it...they are too wide

and yes the knobs just pull off
