Man, the seat bolsters for these OEM seats must be made for anorexics? Mine's poking me in the back and after about 20 minutes it starts to feel annoying...

SO...did some searching onliine and here and haven 't really come across the direct question.

Is there an aftermarket seat that will drop right into our EP3's without any mods needed? I read about our SRS lights and mods to that, but I'm not touching the safety components. Sounds like we need to keep our seat rails??

Just curious if anyone knows of a direct replacement?

Thanks guys!!!!

Most aftermarket seats are the same width. Even the OEM JDM recaros are the same width. Just curious, are you a "larger" person? I'm only asking cuz I'm 6 foot, 210lbs, and i have like 23" wide shoulders and I have no issue with the width of the oem seats. I used to have a set of Sparco Torino's in my old celica, and they were wayyy to narrow.

I love that my seats hold me in and supposedly our OEM seats are made by Recaro and they were also standard in all the Euro-spec Type-R's..

If you're wanting wider seats.. the next gen SI seats were made for..Americans...

I dont think there is any direct replacements for our rails.. I would recommend OEM though as any aftermarket seat you get will definetly be more narrow than our oem seats.

Most if not all aftermarket seats will be more narrow and tighter than the oem.

I know I'm skinny, but I can't see how the OEMs are thought of as narrow.

I've met PLENTY of "bigger" people who LOVE how the seats fit their body. :mangel:
Hard to fathom them not being comfortable. :mangel:

I have a friend who is 3 times my size and says my seats are very comfortable..but I have to say ep3 seats are absolute crap for long drives.. they are amazing for short trips though.. I guess that would make sense though as the ep3 is not a travel type car.

Logest i've sat in mine was about 5 hours and loved them. Just sat a little lower then usual and tilted the seat back a tad.

I've had some BIG guys sit in my car and the seats have not been "too narrow" for any of them, in fact they thought it was great.

Anyway your right, these OEM seats sure aren't made for anorexics........ nor lard asses.

Nope, I'm 6' 184lb...skinny

just on my rigth side..I feel the side bolster holding me in...it's a secure seat..I agree...would like a little more width though...

my 96 Riviera is big & wide inside... maybe I'm too used to that!

Thanks gang for all the replies :)

lol...going from a rivera to a civic is a bit of an adjustment. Compairing those two would be like compairing a office chair to a lazyboy.

^ lol nice comparison.

And to the OP, the OEM seats arent narrow at all in my opinion. Even for the biggies who have sat in my car have never complained.

Now this is narrow....

fg seats > ep seats. more comfortable and the drivers side is adjustable. i just haven't figured out how to wire them yet, for the srs. the middle material is like basketball short silk, instead of whatever that grey stuff we have...

but a 2006+ Si seat won't just drop in will it?

I always wondered what that "gun" looking part on the passenger seat was...SRS stuff....weird...

They do not drop in. A member here got them in, if you search it you could probably find out what he did.

we drilled the rails to make em fit. the holes are different, pans dont swap out. mine were tired and ripping. and i hated the non adjustable headrest.

AMEN!!!!!!! This is exactly what I'm talking about... people are always like "they wont fit" because nothing lines up... BUT A DRILL MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
