My RR bearing hub unit is shot. Dealer wants 388 bucks, and another 78 if they damage the "speed sensor".

So I found the unit for 34 bucks online.

Pretty sure I can change it out myself. I have the factory service manual, and my dumb question which I will be anwering at some point.

The spindle nut is listed as a 22 x 1.5 mm nut. I looked at my 22 mm socket, and just cannot believe its that small.

I'm assuming the manual is correct.

Anyone know for a fact the correct size. Anyone have experience with these hub units as opposed to OEM?

Thanks

Ahh poop!!! I never had the opportunity to open up the rear spindle bolt before so i can't help, but the 22x1.5mm sounds about right.

OK, after a day of daylight access I have my answers.

I spoke to a dealer and they were sort of not helpful, but said that the spindle nut internal diameter is 22mm. Why the HELL the service manual would have that listed is beyond me. The spindle nut requires a 32 mm socket or a 1 1/4 socket. 32 mm is equal to 1.23xxxx inches.

I also bought the rear hub on ebay for 34 bucks. They guy said they are a distributor and sell to others. So the mark up is approximately 600%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will post my results if anyone interested.

Oh yeah hahaha my bad... I thought you were talking about the thread pitch so i said it sounded right. The Ep ones are 32mm while the TypeS axles are 36mm.
