OK, here it is. I am at a stand still, and wanting some opinions. My motor is on it's last leg. It has needed replaced for over a year, but I keep procrastinating. One thing that I know I will need is Kpro. Where my dilema lies is what motor to replace the a3 with. I am going to have about $6,000 to spend, take kpro out and it's about $5,000. I will have an extra grand or two sitting buy just in case things get tight, or more parts are needed. I am down to two real options for the motor. K20a2 with the 6spd, or a k24a1. I love reving high, which is one reason I am leaning more towards the a2, but I also consider either a jrsc or turbo kit on the a1. I can get more out of the a1 with the same amount of money, but I can get an extra gear and higher rpm with the a2. Overall, I would love to have 250whp. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

i would say theres a guy here selling a k20a for basically 3g's but i say big block.... k24a1 maybe 24a2. i believe they have alot of potential and can get you alot of torque too. just depens what U want really and whats easier in a way....

i think the difference between the k20a2 and k20a (type R) is not that big you will get almost the same HP or maybe a lil more on k20a and k20a has a higher compression, and whatever you decided to get you still need a kpro

A k20a is very temping, it is just finding a reliable source. You can find them on ebay all day long, but I don't trust ebay engines. If I could find one with the full swap, I would love it.

Damn, now you guys have me leaning towards a k20a again. This is what I was looking at originally. http://www.bestofjdm.com/JDM-ENGINE-K20A-RSX-i-VTEC-02-p/jdmhonda16.htm

never buy engines online cause you'll never know if that engine has been driven to the max or abused atleast go to a shop or someone where you can look and check everything if its in good condition

NEVER waste your money on a K20A, overpriced with barely any performance gains over the a2.

I would say opt for a K24A2 w/6spd trans. A far better ride than either the K24A1 or K20a2. 250whp would be hard to get too without boost, but the K24A2 can be in the 220's with serious torque that really pushs the hefty EP3 down the road with gusto.
