My EP has finally reach old-timer status, and much faster than I would have liked it to, lol.

Bought it in November of '09 had 73k miles on it.

1 year and 4 months later on this day it has reached "Honda Maturity" :mmad:

Have you guys done major servicing yet?

I need to make a list on what needs to be done.

Picked up mine new december of 04. Its got 113k miles on it now. Ive done the basic oil changes, checked valve lash at 100k(was still good no changes nessecary and no cam galling issues either) put some new brakes on at 95k, tranny fluid change at 75k, and a new starter at 105k.

I haven't done any major servicing as of yet either. Other than the usual tune up, i.e. plugs, oil, trans fluid, coolant, brakes, etc.

It's been holding up well with boost and I'm surprised. I haven't dont a valve job or check, but it seems that when I bought the car it was previously done, don't know by whom but you don't hear any kind of valve ticking whatsoever. Even so, I'm still getting 29-31 MPG if I keep my foot out of the pedal which is amazing at this mileage as well, I guess I just have to count my lucky stars for the first owner before me for taking such good care of the car.

I'm split between actually doing the recommended servicing and prolonging the life of the engine, or waiting until I finish my swap/build and just not service the A3.

At this mileage it's timing chain, tensioner, and water pump. If I'm going to be messing with the timing chain, I'm going vtec killer with my A2 cams I got laying around lol.

I never mentioned it but my car is an '05. Sucks driving so much, it's approx. 25 miles one way from home to base.

At this mileage it's timing chain, tensioner, and water pump..

Who in the HELL told you that?? 100K service on this car is just an oil change and tire rotation.
At 110K it's an oil change, rotation, spark plugs, check valve clearance..

of course there is all the other maintenance you should be doing anyway. Air & cabin filters every 30K, brake & clutch fluid every 3 years, coolant @ 10yrs/120K and 5rys/60K afterwards, Transmission fluid @ 60K/120K.. Don't agree with all of the intervals but they designed/engineered the car.
