Hello im looking for an answer which nobody can give me a straight answer too. There are 2 HFP suspension sets one for the 04-05 Civic coupe and one for the 04-05 Civic Si they basically have the same part # 08W60-S5T-100 SI/08W60-S5P-100 Coupe except the P and T i called a dealership and they wanted to sell me a Coupe set which they said was for the EP3 can somebody tell me are these basically the same set HELPPPPP.

Sorry this isn't a straight forward answer.
But I am going to say that they are different.
It's a problem with many aftermarket suspension dealers.

Like my problem with skunk2.
I was sold 01-05 lowering springs, with the dealers saying "These were designed for the ep3".
No they are not, Honda designed the ep3 and em2 to have similar suspension designs. Skunk2 did not design their 01-05 labeled springs to be specific for the ep3. They, more or less, were designed to fit 7th generation civic suspension designs.
This causes the rear to sag really hard as I believe the spring rates and drop rates are for the em2, 01-05 civic.
They are labeled to give a drop at 2.5F and 2R.
It's more like the other way around, at 2F and 2.75R.

I believe many ephatchers have this problem with Progress?

Bud I would just ask about the spring rates. If the spring rates are the same than I don't see there really being a different. Spring Rates!

Bump.

This doesnt really answer the question but I bought the HFP suspension for the 04-05 EP3 and put them on my 03 and I had no problems getting them on and no problems with the ride. They have been on now for about 7 years!

As PatrickJamesYu said, the Ep3 chassis is alot heavier in the rear than the 01-05 base Civic so I'm sure the dampening and spring rates are softer. But, you never know, the factory could have made them more similar than any of us realize. Track down the spring rates for both the HFP sets and that should answer your question.

Those two suspensions are NOT the same, different spring rates and damping, the coupe's kit(as i was informed) is somewheres between the Si's stockies and the Si's HFP.(this was from a Honda engineer, an engine specialist and not a suspension specialist, so...)

You don't need the exact spring rates to know if you should get them or not. As MugenReplica said, the EP's so much heavier in the rear that there's just no way Honda would make them similar enough to be interchangable. I'll bet the farm that you'll be sagging in the rear BIGtime- with a crappy ride to boot.

"Bet the farm," "ride to boot" I sound like a hick. :tehe:

None of you Cali types are hicks!

Try 20 minutes just to get off the mountain and then 58 highway miles to the nearest city limits!

How many loaded firearms do you have in your house?

Do you have a working still?

If you can say no to any of these you are not a hick!

LOL, LOL, LOL
