**Update**
Removed interior - 4/8/2011
Removing Sound deadening - 4/11/11 to ??/??/????

To all you guys that have the RHD carpet...

Did most of the hole line up? What holes did you have to cut so it did line up?
Are the holes that the carpet has for the Driver dead pedal noticable once installed on our USDM EP3?

Can you guys post pics looking at the footwells on the driver/passenger side?

Thanks.

I haven't started a members page. Nothing much to really look at really.
Still running all HFP exterior stuff. Two winter's ago was really rough on the ep3. I just got a beater for this past winter... just bought a house so everything was put on hold.

Weather looking good tomorrow. FINALLY! I'm going to start taking the interior apart after work. With each day my arm is feeling good. So I think I can take the seats out myself. Might need help under the dash. Ill take progress pics as I go along.

my old school mugen mr5 wheels actually overnighted from japan...i sent the money for them ($500 shipped) and got my tracking quote, and since it was shipped from a US military base in japan, they literally made it into the US in 1 day...no customs

removal of carpet is pretty straight forward. the helms manual calls for removing the following items. i switched the items a bit for ease of my fluffy body.

1.) Driver and passenger seats
2.) front and rear center dashes (ebrake cover and twin cup holders w/ slider)
3.) Driver and passanger lower dash panels
4.) Driver and Passenger lower seatbelt Bolt (size 14mm)
5.) Driver and Passenger kick panels
6.) Driver and Passenger lower door floor covers
7.) Driver foot rest

Now your left with this:

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj309/KerbyEP3/Carpet%20install/IMG_2051.jpg

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj309/KerbyEP3/Carpet%20install/IMG_2059.jpg

Now you need to make 4 cuts.

Cut #1:
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj309/KerbyEP3/Carpet%20install/IMG_2061.jpg

Cut #2:
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj309/KerbyEP3/Carpet%20install/IMG_2062.jpg

Cut #3:
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj309/KerbyEP3/Carpet%20install/IMG_2064.jpg

Cut#4:
This was a PITA. Here is where you have to ask yourself, "I'm I going to save, sell, this carpet. Or do I not give a flying fudge?" If you are going to resell, the easiest way i was able to cut was to go to the passenger side, with your right hand reach as far back towards the center dash and tug towards you. Feel around, these will be a 1" material strip you cut. I used scissors because I was afraid that with a exacto knife I was going to cut wires. once they all 4 cuts are made, take a step back and admire the black carpet. It's gonna be the last time you look at it.

I started on the passenger side and just starting pulling. Pull like your pulling vinyl sticker... Some white insulation under the carpet will be stuck to the sound deadening crap, so take you time pulling the carpet.

And here is how she sits now:
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj309/KerbyEP3/Carpet%20install/IMG_2069.jpg

Next up:
1.) Dry ice
2.) Mugen pedals. I got the room now to move around.

Stage 2 of my interior build was started today. I went and bought some 20pounds worth of dry ice. I’m going to need another 20 to finish the job. All I have to do is the rear seat area and spare trunk.

I’m really happy with the dry ice I purchased. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj309/KerbyEP3/Carpet%20install/DSC05103.jpg

It wasn’t in block form so I didn’t have to break up. It came in pellets. It was very easy to move around.

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj309/KerbyEP3/Carpet%20install/DSC05102.jpg

I was really skeptic about the dry ice. But I’m a believer now. This stuff is so fricken awesome. Just be careful with your fingers. This stuff is really cold.

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj309/KerbyEP3/Carpet%20install/DSC05117.jpg

And here’s where I’m at tonight. Wife called me for dinner so I called it a day. All I did was vacuum to clean it up a bit. Next step will be adhesive removal.

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj309/KerbyEP3/Carpet%20install/DSC05124.jpg

I’ll be getting another 20pounds later this week to finish some spots that were stubborn. Then I’ll have enough to hit the rear seats and the spare tire area.

Wow it looks really good! So the RHD carpet fits perfectly

Kerby

oh yeah. the only thing is the USDM passenger side. if you look at the top pic... the carpet was cut for the trunk puller thingy for the RH drive configuration.
No worries tough... the floor mat covers it.

That and if it REALLY bothers me... it gives me another excuse to do a RHD conversion.

yes. Last year I only drove it about 4 times. It never leaves my line of sight when I do take it out.

This is a perfect picture of what to expect from the RHD carpet. The dead pedal holes are raised an on the RH side of the car.
Also, you'll notice the cut out in the RH side for the RHD gas lever. Finally, I found that the LH side of the carpet didn't have enough
material to reach behind the LH side lower A pillar trim panel near the hood release cable. Aside from this, the carpet fits perfectly.
All the holes for the seats lineup perfectly.
