I am looking at replacing my suspension set-up. Since i can't find the HFP kit anywhere, I am going a different route. I cam across a set of JDM HONDA CIVIC TYPE R EP3 STRUT & SPRING. They are off an 2003. My car is a 2002. I would like to know if this a direct bolt in or do i need different tie-rod ends? And as well does anyone have experience with this set up. The set i found has around 40000KM or 25000 miles on them. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

It should bolt up, if it were to need different tie rod ends they would be dc5 ones, but I highly doubt that will be the case...

Fellow EP3 members, anybody using this set up on there car? I wanted to get an idea of ride comfort. According to the specs the type r has slightly stiffer front spring rates with a slightly softer rear spring rate. I would combine this with the type r sway bar. Just looking for some honest opinions! Thanks!

do you have a link to the parts?

it would suck if you purchase the parts just to find they are not from the Type-R.

they look like regular 'ol oem shocks/springs to me.. it's pretty hard to tell the difference between different oem sets.

many manufacturers will mark the springs in different colors to indicate the spring rates. if you can find the colors used on the ctr that should help you identify if the springs have the proper markings

51601-s5t-j060-m1 is the part number on the one shock. The one pic he sent has "TYPE-R" stamped into the bottom of the shock body.

More pics can be found here.....
