If you ever start getting symptoms that point to a slave cylinder, throw-out bearing, or clutch disk going bad, or if the entire drivetrain just starts to feel like it's about to fall apart, you may have done this:

No idea how I managed to do that. The symptoms only started showing up (quite suddenly) after going about 100 miles in 5th gear at 3-4k rpm. Anyway, it's all back together now so it's good. Not even 90,000 miles and a new clutch...

I've heard of, and have been the victim of clutch disk springs breaking but haven't witnessed that before. Interesting.

That happened to me, the major symptom of that is difficulty dissengaging the clutch and getting into gear...

i drove to and from nashville for IA with my clutch like this for the summer meet...I meant to get a sticker made that said, 'Summer IA 2010 "clutches are crutches"'

i drove the whole way and back and around town without using my clutch to shift except for at stops...thank god i already knew how to drive by rev matching

I drove the Tail of The Dragon (and back home) with a clutch disk about like that. Just have to learn to really rev match. :)

this, for what ever reason, happens alot to ep clutches. the chunks of metal destroyed my disc and put a hell of a bevel on the inner edge of my pressure plate. here's what mine looked like.

It is not just EP clutchs, it is the substandard Exedy design, stockies are NOT made by Honda, but by Exedy/Daikin just like 85% of the clutchs in the world.

I blew my springs out during the MD BBQ(1st drag strip event), I made it all the way back to upstate NY with parts being thrown all around the clutch case. The interior of the clutch case looked like someone shot it with a shotgun repeatedly! Occaisonally when operating the clutch on the way back a piece of the cage around the spring would get lodged between the disc and the PP and flywheel, there were significant trenchs ripped into the fly and pressure plate, total write-off as far as the clutch and fly goes.

This is what has been in there and has been awesome! CM400 has a far stronger spring arrangment and 6 rivets vrs the standard 4 rivets(these are what get loose and allow the springs to break the disc apart).

Yeah i blew the springs on the oem clutch when I had the k20a3. My current setup is a comp. stage 4 w/ 6puck disc and the 8lb competition flywheel. PIA to drive around the shitty city of albany and i get a lot of clutch chatter in the cold but i know it wont go out on me. *Knock on wood*

It helps to remember that your not playing Forza when driving the car....

Chunky really loves his kevlar clutch from clutchnet. I've driven his car and it is very nice. Very smooth engagement.

Pssh, you will learn in time. Rev matching doesn't hurt it anyway :mtongue:
