Thinkin about pickin up a set of rota grid offroads for my car in 16x8 +20. My question is how will fitment be? Will a 205-50-16 fit them? And will a 57.1 Hub bore work? Anybody have pics of the fitment on 16x8 +20 wheels? I dont wanna run anything i gotta camber the shit outta my wheels for or that stick out like crazy.

Im pretty sure that was Ep3jd's old setup before he got x9 wide

i know i'm new here, but that sounds like it would fit just fine to me.
considering this is a 16x8 et0 with a 205/40.

the specs you posted will sit 0.78" (20mm) CLOSER to the hub, so less poke. with a 50mm sidewall, it should be a slightly milder stretch than the one above.

if you're like most guys i've seen around here, your car probably isn't low enough to need any fender work.

i'm planning on going lower than the one i just posted with the same wheel specs, but run 195/45's.

16x8 +10 205/40

http://tapa.tk/mu/d0365745-7de4-7cd0.jpg
(needs a couple degrees negative camber in the rear, looks weird I know)
17x9 +25 205/40

Get the 16x8 +20 and do either 205/45 or 205/50 depending on how low you want to be

How much poke is there gonna be on a 16x8 +20 i dont really want poke i jus want them to sit nice and they cant really poke too much cuz i dont wan them shattering my cf fenders.

But were you low? And im runnin a 205-50 u ran a 40. I cant tell by the pic cuz its too tiny. How much do you think the +20 would stick out?

If you search theres a black sir on here with 205/50 on the +10

+20 is weak! remember, 20mm is a hair over 3/4", so they'll poke 3/4" less than the white one i posted. which is a little too conservative if you ask me. haha.

+0 is so ricey(generally). If you want that much poke, get some width to go with it!

Agreeed. Nothin worse than skinny ass wheels sittin too far out.

it looks good that way. the biggest issue with the EP is that the wheel wells are so freaking big that it doesn't look low, despite being close to the ground.

this is the best wheel fitment i've seen on an EP3 yet.

keep in mind, i'm new here and am a rwd guy. my last 2 cars were a 240sx and E30.

so after re-reading this, let me get this straight. you're saying that if you want some poke, go wider than 8"? i'm gonna test fit my BBS' when i get a chance. i'm sure they won't even clear the suspension, but it'll be interesting. believe i will take pictures. :)

Yes! Give me the specs, I'll tell you right now if they'll clear.

Edit: what I'm saying is you will get the exact same outer fitment as x8 +0 with say x9 +13

And you can get more stretch.

In the words of RHCP0801 "skinny low offset wheels make your car look like its spreading its wheels to take a shit"

No need to waste all the inner clearance. If its there, fill it up

This will make your fitment choices way easier

i don't mean to hijack this thread, but this is what i've got stacked up in my garage.

F - 16x8.5 +14 205/40
R - 16x10 -3 205/40

http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o190/dane240/a2290f44.jpg

soooo, that would make my wheels stick out 28.4mm further than the 16x8's, thus 1.1181102" further than the sportmax.
22.4mm wider on the inside.

i have no hands-on experience with the EP yet. i put down a deposit, but the owner needs the car until the first of may.
they are listed FS locally for $2k as they sit (with caps and waffles).

Those rears are way tooooooooooo much lol

ep3jd
04-19-2011, 09:36 AM
But so you know the max size that clears on the inside is x9 +38 so use that when you calculate to see what will clear

lucky7

i assumed they wouldn't clear the suspension. how much room is there to work with?

i bought them for my E30.
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o190/dane240/99d249ce.jpg
didin't get a chance to finish lowering it, cambering or even roll/pull. this was just a quick bolt-up before i stored them for the winter. low and behold, the car is gone.

but what is the clearance for the suspension? how wide can you go before you start hitting stuff? (EDIT, you beat me to it)

this is going to frustrate me i think. it's not like Zilvia or E30-tech, where i can just pick a fitment i like from a huge thread and copy it.

It depends on what look you're going for. I like to consider myself decently educated in the wheel tire fitment for the ep3 so you can pm me if you have any questions and I'll more then gladly help. Instead of skewing off topic here

Or post in the wheel/tire thread and I'll reply there lol

Lucky7, what do you think of this?

17x9 +22 all around....IMO smokes the white ones fitment hard.

if it were me, i'd throw a spacer on the rear. looks like it pokes more up front.
but i still like the poke on the white one better. i prefer 16's though.
