Tie Rod(Inner)

My inner tie rods have a ton of play in them and make a clunk when turning. So has anyone replaced the tie rods before? Do I just rip off the inner boot, loosen the crash nut, then use the bar's hexagon with a crows foot or w.e? Any input would be good.

going to be doing this same. Looked it up but I have not seen the same looking inner tie rod's design as the ep3s.
