My brother just switched his tires around and even though he purchased 4 new tires for his car, two of them that he took off had tons of tread. They are Pilot sports I think and are 225/45/17' s. Does anyone know of this would work or will this cause problems on 17" wheels on the SI.

i've heard it will cause problems but then again supposedly mugen is running 8 inch wheels which would have 225's on it, but i think it is only for going straight i would like to find out though because i would love to run 225's. why dont you try it out for a day since you have the tires already and get back to me.

225's will fit with no problem. jsut make sure your rim is at least 7" wide. 7.5" & 8" would be better, but it will fit on a 7" rim.

225" wide tires do take away some of the turn in precision, but the benefits of extra traction far outweigh the negatives. you can adjust your driving style to compensate for the late turn in, but you can't adjust anything to get more traction aside from a wider/stickier tire.

Thanks for letting me know. I have tires from my brother, but no wheels. I'm trying to find a good set of lightweight 17's without having to spend a fortune on them. If only I had more money, hehe.

Napaconda,

Hey did you ever install those 225's on your car? If so, what offset did you get on the rims and results?
