Help..... Axle popped out

I rolled my car out of the garage today after completing the swap, everything went good reversing it out of the garage but when I put it in first to pull it back in the drivers side axle popped out so the car wouldn't move at all. Almost felt like the clutch went but I could see that the axle popped out and the trans just wasn't turning it.
Anyone have this happen before? Any idea's as to why it happened? I just want to make sure its not going to happen again as soon as I put it back together. Thanks

pop it back in?

when doing my coilovers mine would pop out super easy and all you had to do was push them back in

Oh I'm going to pop it back in I just want to see if this is a problem with a retaining clip or something because if it popped out just pulling up in 1st I think its just going to pop out again.

Make sure the hog ring is still intact and reinsert.

Looks like the axle is shot, it stripped off the little set of teeth after the ring when it popped out.
