I really dont get this as much as id like to.I read the beginners guide to kpro and i understand that its a computer program you can access with a modded ecu from hondata that allows you to tune your settings with a laptop or a pc w/a extention cable.LOL
The questions i have are first what one do i buy?I went in hondatas site and theres something for the a3 for a little over $200 and then theres something for close to $1000 dollars? Is this really that much money to buy?Another thing is what does this do to your car in laymans terms? So far i understand it allows you to go to higher rpms ,what else? You are telling me our usdm ecus are fuxking lame just like out usdm engines!?!?Some peeps on here told me before i even got a exhaust, header and intake i should of gotten kpro?If i buy one should i get one used or should i get one from hondata? Also I read the 05 ep3 ecu wont work and you need to buy a new/used 02-04 ecu and send that to hondata?Phew all this stuff is going to make my head explode!Plus there are more questions i cant think of right now.

I know most of these, if all of these, can be answered if i spent hours upon hours looking at old posts but im sorry i dont have the time right now and id be great if one of your extensivly knowledged ep3 owners could help me a mechanicly challenged individual get on the right track wit this kpro and enjoy his ep3 again.cause latly its been bad...real bad...I fu$ked up my ep3 real good, gotta $550 exhaust thats a skunk2 3inch catback(its 4 sale),lost all my torque and now have an even slower than stock ep3 that is so freaking loud ive met all the cops around here to a point to where they leave me alone now cause they know me.....

first its called research!

second kpro is, in fact, a programmable ecu. the $200 dollar "ecu" your talking of is just a chipped ecu to specific settings. but you cannot tune with it. the $1000 dollar one is the one you wanna get. its a fully programmable ecu that allows you to do almost anything. you can swap another motor, boost, nos, all -motor, etc.

if you dont learn how to tune there are people called "tuners" that will do it for you.

seriously read around before asking simple questions

oh and btw that 3in is over kill for a dinky ass a3. i never knew skunk 2 even made a 3in exhaust

LOL, another person swept up with the bigger is better syndrome! LOL,

Even on my 242 whp A2/Z3 hybrid, a 3" exhaust is a serious downgrade unless you spend your entire life at WOT at the redline. I lost about 5whp up top going from a 3" to a 2.5" and adding a cat, but gained well over 20-30 whp throughout the entire low and midrange. Those are certainly gains that any DD can take advantage of.

The 05 EP3 ECU still works fine with Kpro, the 05+ PRB ECU(typeS) can not be used without extensive modofications that are hard to revert from..

Kpro for under $900 without a ECU trade is a really really lucky good deal. They average $900 with a ecu trade.
