I recently started a thread regarding my "old" fiberglass enclosure. I loved that it was sitting off to the passenger side and didn’t take up much of my trunk space, but what I really wanted was a more of a stealth look while still having access to my spare tire (since this is my daily driver) and I wanted to keep the space... so I started a new project.

Here are pics of my build from beginning to end. This new setup has raised my trunk floor up about 3.5" and when the seats are folded down, the floor sits at the same height... and pivots on hinges if I need to get to my spare. I was also able to create something to mount my jack to instead of sitting around freely like before. I have retained a lot of the trunk space I originally had (with an exception to the height) and have concealed my setup when necessary by placing the grilles and the stock trunk carpeting over the new floor. Please let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.

Very clean. Awesome job! Is that a PDX5 or a sub only amp?

I'm getting ready to do something very similar. I originally used 2 Polk Momo 8's and I was happy with them, but now I have a JL 10W7.... Its a beast.... So now I have to figure out how to get my CF required for my setup. My new setup will be very similar in style to my old one. What kind of space (CF) were you able to make for the sub with the spare tire? I need around 1.25CF for my W7 to work properly.

Heres a pic of my old setup.

It's a sub only amp... PDX 1.600

My sub required .60 cubic feet so that's what I made for it.

Very clean look!

I would put a grille over that sub, eventually sometime you will want to put something back there. I would also consider getting one of those net storage things for the back, I had one and it was very convienent, especially for carrying damp car care stuff or a spare jacket etc.

Super clean! Love the set-up. I'm too much of a puss for a system.

nice.
how did you do the carpet around the edges?
and where do you get this carpet from?
you acheived .6 cf from addiing rings to the base, or is the because the sub wouldn't fit over the spare?
how did you enclose the bottom of it (over the spare)?
are you keeping that stick on the bottom just for support? and if so, is it permanent?

This looks awesome, I like your choice in equipment. Alpine makes the greatest stuff.

HOLY CRAP!!!

You should really consider making templates. I know I would be interested.

Do you worry about heat with your amp with the carpet over it or did you add adequate ventillation on the bottom side of the lid?

Not at all. There is plenty of ventilation below the false floor.

Could you show a pic of the the backside of the false floor?
