First DIY .. Not going to be the greatest. :mwink:

Get the wrap. Ill add a link to my brother where you can buy it.

Remove the Radio, turnie noobs, (a/c,defrost) buttons, shift boot, hazard switch, knock out and the top vents.
http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww200/Dr_greenthumb1/IMG_1021.jpg

Cut the wrap about 1 inch longer, remove the white backing. place the wrap face down then place the plastic on top.
http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww200/Dr_greenthumb1/IMG_1025.jpg

Heat up all the wrap and stretch it. Don't go crazy or it will look like crap, but pull it over.
http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww200/Dr_greenthumb1/IMG_1023.jpg
http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww200/Dr_greenthumb1/IMG_1026.jpg

Cut out the holes. Careful when cutting if you cut to far it will be ruined
http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww200/Dr_greenthumb1/IMG_1027.jpg

Cut to about the end out my thumb nail
http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww200/Dr_greenthumb1/IMG_1030.jpg

Test fit. trim if needed.
http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww200/Dr_greenthumb1/IMG_1031.jpg

Easy way to do the holes, heat up the spot HOT then use something (I used a Sharpie lol) keep the heat on while pushing down. Keep hold down for about 30sec so the wrap can cool and keep its shape.
http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww200/Dr_greenthumb1/IMG_1034.jpg

Here's what you should get.
http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww200/Dr_greenthumb1/IMG_1035.jpg:gheywa:
You will still need to work the wrap to forum.
http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww200/Dr_greenthumb1/IMG_1036.jpg

This is the final

kinda surprised you went with a di-noc instead of a regular vinyl...especially since 3m has their new line of vinyl which includes carbon

great diy.
i personally like the silver trim. just wish there were a way to restore the silver that chips off.

great diy for anyone who wants to do this instead of searching for that oem honda one

i think this looks a ton better than the honda one too. the honda one is expensive as hell and looks really fake. this actually has somewhat of a real carbon fiber textured look.

x2..I had the oem Honda one and to be honest I like the carbon vinyl wrap way better. looks more realistic and for fraction of the price of the oem one. plus if u get the sheet long enuf u can wrap more things and it still be cheaper.

bump nice diy bro I did exactly the same thing except without the sharpie. lol

its easy but not that easy. The cutting is the hardest part, be very slow when cutting, and if you trim to much peel it up, heat up a little
ways in and pull it over. other then that easy as pie.

I was curious, when you heat it up and stretch it...does it distort the "carbon fiber" look at all?

yes sir it does, so you need to play with it, where you heat and where you pull.

were can i get carbon wrap cheap from

ef9jeff

ebay will be the cheapest

Heads up for people that live in mild climate... buy the adhesive promoter, and wash the part VERY well, it wants to lift when it gets hot out (or direct sunlight). Having the adhesive promoter should help in it not wanting to lift.

3M makes a good carbon fiber vinyl wrap http://www.amazon.com/3M-Scotchprint-Carbon-Fiber-Vinyl/dp/B0058DIDTY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353954124&sr=8-1&keywords=carbon+fiber+3m
