Yes I have seen and read other post on this subject and I have been doing a lot of searching, but I need a little extra advice from you ephatchers. No I do not want opinions. Stuff like "running smaller wheels on the front and bigger on the back will screw up your handling". I am just daily driving and I doubt it will be that drastic. So anyways I picked up a set of AP1 rims and I am aware that the backs are +65 and the fronts are 55+. That is where my question comes in about spacers. In the back should I have 25mm or 30mm? Also do I need any spacers in the front? I read that if you don't have spacers on sharp turns like u-turns it may rub. Anyways can I get some advice? I tried reading through most of the wheel fitment thread and googling alot but I need to be sure before I spend good money :mcry:

What are you lowered on? What tire sizes are you looking to run with? We need details like that as well.

For those that don't know, the AP1 wheels are 16x6.5 in the front, and 16x7.5 in the rear.

I am lowered 2" all around, and I will say that I almost bought wheels that were 16x7.5 +42 all around, until I discovered they rubbed slightly on the trailing arms in the rear. If you look at the offset calculator here:

http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp

I rubbed when the wheels I almost bought which were 10mm closer to the inside of the rear wheelwells -- you are 8mm closer with 25mm spacers, which may be cutting it very close to the trailing arms, but with 30mm spacers, I think you are perfect. The 30mm spacers calculations say you are only 3mm closer, so it shouldn't hit any inside suspension components, and an extra 23mm isn't too drastic. You will have to get a custom alignment by at least -2 degrees in the rear.

The rears aside, I think you should run 25mm spacers in the front. You definitely need spacers up front too anyways, since +55 is a very high offset, and will likely rub the strut housing. With the offset at 30 by the 25mm spacer, that's the limit without the wheels and tires cutting up the fenders, assuming you're running at least -1.5 camber in the front. You're gaining 15mm of clearance inside at the fronts, but the 15mm extension should limit your tire size to 205/50 (maybe 45's depending on your height).

So to sum it up, 25mm spacers front, 30mm spacers rear, 205 in the front, and 215-225/45 in the rear. You should be good to go -- post pics of the install!

I recommend finding 4 front AP1 rims.
and getting AT LEAST 10mm all around.

If you must run staggard, get AT LEAST 20mm for the +65 and 10mm for the +55.
You can't go wrong if you get them at +45.

If you go spacers, just make sure you do research on that too.

ShadowMD ran this setup for a while with the rears up front... i wanna say he used 10mm spacers as well?

Thanks everyone for the responses and yes I have read all about getting four fronts and just running that, but I have a set and I like how they are so I don't want to be messing with that. I will post some pics of the rims and when I buy spacers and all and get to the install I will post up some pics for anyone that ever wants to try. It seems this setup is not very popular at all but I like the rims and I don't mind being different. To Rasy I am pretty much at stock height, I have Koni's or something (came with the car). I'm thinking 25mm spacers up front and 30mm in the backs that will leave me pretty flush If it were lower right? Is anyone on the forums running rim with an offset of +65?

The ITR wheels are 17x7 +55 and I think kids usually run 25 mm spacers. I don't want to think a lot right now so just use that info to come up with what you need lol

Since you're pretty much at stock height, you shouldn't have many issues at all then. You're correct, 25mm spacers up front, and 30mm spacers in the rear.

Just be sure to get an alignment at the same you mount the wheel/tire combo, and it will definitely help to roll the fenders to maximize the space.

Thank you ephatchers, I knew I could always count on you guys for information. I am going to wait a couple weeks till I have enough money to get myself some spacers. I was thinking about just getting the two pairs for $85 each from ebay but if anyone has suggestions on which I should get or if anyone has used the ebay ones. My friend told me to get Ichiba spacers but they are a bit expensive. Once again thanks and any input on what brand spacers I should get would be nice :)

Well like I said I don't want to buy another set of fronts. I already have the rims I want and they are staggered and I am just sticking to that. But I do have a qestion for you since you ran this setup. The 25mm spacers left the rims in the front flush? I can't really tell much from the pics I have seen of it. And since there is a 10mm difference from the fronts to the backs should I get 25mm in front and 35mm in back or is that pushing it? I have never worked with spacers before.

I finally chose the spacers I wanted because I did not want my wheels sunk in like most other EPs or RSXs that I have seen with this setup. So I got myself some 35mm for the backs and some 30mm for the fronts. I am very pleased with the results and the ride quality.

Now the ride stance. It ended up coming out pretty damn nice.

Some hub-centric ebay ones. I figured, or at least hoped that a piece of aluminum is a piece of aluminum.

Some craigslist post. I got them for 250. They are in really good condition with no rash or anything and have all the center caps so I didn't mind paying that.

better than some shitty guy selling his on criagslist here for 400. I was about to say that you got ripped off if you bought the set here for 400.

Hey that's my car. You need to run 4 fronts with 25 mm spacers all around.

you can run the fronts with no spacers, the rears are what you need spacers for. i got 2 sets of rear ap1 rims with tires and spacers for 100

215/45/16 and 245/45/16 I am going to buy myself some 205/40/16 and 215/40/16 cause these tires stick out too much on the side of my car.

So have you run into any problems since the aftermarket lugs/oem wheels issue?

Pandamanda22

Nah I just ended up getting some ball seat lugs and the car is fine now. It looks less ricey too since I got black lugs now. But I do miss my blue ones :(
